Position Summary:
OrthoNeuro is seeking a Physician Assistant to support the broader organization and various service lines. As an OrthoNeuro Physician Assistant reporting directly to a supervising physician, you will participate in all aspects of patient care and be expected to perform duties described below.
Position Responsibilities/Standards:
Outpatient Clinics
Attend outpatient clinics and participate in the initial evaluation, as well as longitudinal care of patients across all OrthoNeuro practice locations.
Obtain detailed medical history and perform comprehensive physical examination of patients.
Order and review appropriate diagnostic testing including radiographs, CT scans, MRI's, EMG's and DEXA scans.
Conduct procedures (under direction and appropriate level of supervision of the attending physician), including but not limited to: and splinting and aspiration/injection of bursae and/or joints.
Develop and implement plan of care with supervising supervision.
Complete appropriate documentation of all evaluations, care and services rendered to the patient in their medical record in a timely fashion.
Make appropriate referral for consultations when indicated.
Provide both pre and post operative patient education to patients and their families.
Respond to telephone inquiries of patients and provide appropriate medical care, referral for consultation or counseling.
Communicate with referring or primary care physicians, and physical therapy staff regarding patient care and treatment.
Provide follow up and health maintenance care including the appropriate adjustment of medications in accordance with established protocols or in response to specific instructions from the attending physician.
Prescription of medications to accomplish the plan of treatment as delineated by attending physician.
Organization and task assignment to other healthcare team members (RN's, MA's and technicians) to facilitate flow of patients.
Must have a basic understanding of current CMS guidelines for E&M coding of medical services rendered.
Must have a basic knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) usage and basic computer skills.
On Call coverage as needed
Urgent Care clinic coverage as needed
Surgery
Prepare patients for surgery, including operative set-up, patient positioning, skin preparation and administration of local anesthetics when indicated.
Function as first or second assistant in the operating room including performing surgical exposure, surgical dissections, layer closure of wounds, preparation of antilogous and allograft materials, application of dressings and immobilization devices.
Function as liaison to the intraoperative team to ensure appropriate surgical equipment is available when needed.
Assist attending physician in the completing, securing, or dispensing of appropriate preoperative and postoperative records, prescriptions and pictures/video.
Perform pre-operative history and physical examination as needed.
Inpatient Care
Complete records on all inpatients as directed by attending physician in accordance with hospital policy and standards.
Notifies attending physician on call, house physician on call or supervising physician regarding any unusual or unexpected events or problems requiring direct physician consultation.
Provide routine medical management of inpatient care including ordering of diagnostic tests, labs, x-rays, medications (within the scope of the PA license) nutrition and managing adjunctive care.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communication of treatment plans with orthopedic physician, nursing staff, and families.
Manage discharge of patients with appropriate disposition, follow up planning, adjunctive therapy management and education.
Make assessment of emergency conditions in conjunction with attending physician and implement appropriate management.
On -Call or Special Requirements AS NEDED
Education/Experience Required:
Graduate of an ARC-PA ( Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant) accredited Physician Assistant/Associate training program.
Must be certified by the NCCPA (National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants) or eligible to sit for the exam.
Licensure or eligible for licensing as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Ohio and other appropriate states.
Ohio license and prescriptive (DEA) license required
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any positions reporting to it. However, the incumbent provides training and guidance to clinic support staff and others as appropriate.
Working Conditions
Generally busy clinical environment including office, clinics, operating room and hospital. Will be required to travel to various clinic and hospital-based locations. There is a requirement for prolonged standing and walking and moderate physical activity. Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. Will work with blood or blood borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Provider is responsible for rounding and managing the wound care of the population at the assigned SNF
The provider is responsible for collaborating and rounding with wound care nursing staff to assess and treat patients residing at SNFs with wounds
Provider will provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive wound care services to patients residing in SNFs
Provider is responsible for timely documentation of all patient care/encounters
The provider will be available for phone/secure messaging consultations with facility nursing staff
Provider documentation is completed in Theoria's proprietary electronic health record (EHR) system, ChartEasyâ„¢
PointClickCare, MatrixCare, and American HealthTech are the most commonly used facility EHR systems
Physical Requirements
Must be able to move inside a facility frequently and briskly in order to see patients, meet with managers and facility staff, and attend to patient needs.
Punctual in-person attendance (typically between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. is required (for rounders).
Continuous operation of app-based EMR/notes system either through a computer or on a mobile device (iPad, Phone etc.).
Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a facility.
Some ability to position oneself to obtain records, tools, medical equipment and other items that may be in locations that are below the knee or above the shoulder.
Effectively communicate with patients, managers, and Facility staff.
Ability to observe details in close range (within a few feet of the observer) in order to provide accurate and appropriate medical recommendations, treatment, and to provide timely updates to Managers regarding facility or patient concerns.
Must be able to lift or move at least 25 pounds.

In this role, you will gather comprehensive clinical information, perform detailed assessments, and collaborate closely with hospice physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform and complete physical assessments for hospice F2F encounters within CMS-established regulatory timeframes.
Document clinical findings accurately and attest F2F encounters in patient medical records.
Utilize Local Coverage Determination (LCD) criteria per hospice policy and regulatory requirements.
Communicate clinical findings, review treatment plans, lab results, diagnostics, and medications with certifying physicians.
Collaborate effectively with physicians, interdisciplinary group (IDG) members, patients, caregivers, and families.
Provide clinical recommendations to the IDG based on F2F assessment findings.
Conduct assessments in the patient's place of residence, including home, skilled nursing, or other settings.
Notify the hospice agency promptly if unable to complete F2F visits as scheduled.
May provide F2F coverage for multiple provider numbers with approval.

OrthoNeuro is seeking a Physician Assistant to support the broader organization and various service lines. As an OrthoNeuro Physician Assistant reporting directly to a supervising physician, you will participate in all aspects of patient care and be expected to perform duties described below.
Position Responsibilities/Standards:
Outpatient Clinics
Attend outpatient clinics and participate in the initial evaluation, as well as longitudinal care of patients across all OrthoNeuro practice locations.
Obtain detailed medical history and perform comprehensive physical examination of patients.
Order and review appropriate diagnostic testing including radiographs, CT scans, MRI's, EMG's and DEXA scans.

Responsibilities include:
Traveling to scheduled locations weekly for wound rounds at various homes or facilities in Columbus area
Providing the highest quality advanced wound care services to patients in homes and partner facilities
Performing high level bedside wound care skills including wound assessment, debridement, dressing application, pressure relief, pain/odor control, and minor surgical procedures
Tracking the progress of wound healing and documenting accordingly in EHR
Developing a treatment plan for wound care based on the individual needs of each patient
Providing education to the patient, family, facility staff, and home health agency staff to promote understanding and healing, and for the management of patient's wounds
Experience:
Quality patient care

Graduate degree in nursing
Valid driver's licenses and willingness to travel to facilities and homes
