JOB TITLE: Family Engagement Specialist STATUS: Non-Exempt

GRADE LEVEL/SALARY: $1254.00/Bi-weekly
The Family Engagement Specialist (FES) is responsible for building relationships with families as well as strengthening and building partnerships in the community. Family Engagement Specialist is responsible for recording documentation in program data system to account for family engagement. The Family Engagement Specialist will represent the Partnership in assigned geographic areas to deliver results.
Responsibilities:
Provide families the opportunity to participate in the Family Partnership Agreement goal setting process.
Establish and maintain a Family Partnership Agreement tracking system to ensure each family has had the opportunity to establish goals.
Complete the Family Outcome Framework with parents.
Coordinate and facilitate School Readiness Transition Meeting for parents.
Monitor assigned classroom attendance weekly.
Follow-up on attendance of children who have excessive absences
Provide a monthly analysis on children's attendance that falls below 85%.
Engage and support medical and dental Providers/community partners as they visit and provide on-site screenings and/or assessments on enrolled children.
Assist families in applying for and completing medical insurance.
Participate in the execution of the Partnership's Parent Orientation remotely or in person.
Attend Policy Council Meeting (remotely or in person) a minimum of one time during a school year.
Work with families within 30 calendar days of child's enrollment to determine whether each child has an ongoing source of continuous, accessible health care and document results in ChildPlus.
Complete required health mandates screenings within 45 days of child's enrollment.
Document required 45 -day health mandates screenings in ChildPlus after completion.
Work with families within first 90 days of enrollment to obtain determination as to whether or not enrolled child is up-to-date on scheduled preventive medical or oral health care.
Document all interaction with families on working to obtain 90 -day Physical and Dental documentation.
Distribute, review, monitor In-Kind contribution from families.
Validate In-Kind contributions and enter accurately in ChildPlus.
Ensure required PIR documentation is entered accurately in ChildPlus.
Recruit volunteers to help agency meet In-Kind match.
Recruit for eligible children and families for Head Start.
Account for recruitment efforts.
Complete and enter In-take (application) in ChildPlus accurately.
Communicate with Child Services Administration on Policy Council family (parent) representation participation for scheduled meetings.
Participate in Health Services Advisory Committee as requested.
Participate in recruiting potential substitutes to help meet staff-child ratio for classrooms.
Assist in meeting classroom ratio as needed when requested by Supervisor.
Engage in and/or coordinate community outreach projects.
Assist families in being advocates for their child's services.
Complete other assigned task as assigned by Center Director to ensure services for children and families are met.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
BS Degree in Social Work or related field required and/or achieve Family Development Credential within 18 months of hiring. Ability to problem solve and work in a team environment. Exemplifies cultural humility and sensitivity. Excellent communication skills. Proficient use of technology. Ability to implement Head Start Performance Standards, Daycare Licensing Minimum Standards according to . Ability to work independently to produce measureable family outcomes.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting with minimal safety issues. Due to COVID-19, remote working has to be requested and approved by Supervisor. The ability to frequently travel to assigned designated centers in the Partnership service areas, as well as to internal and/or external meetings, trainings, and community involvement. This position requires sitting, standing, bending, and minimal lifting. This position requires a valid driver's license and safe driving record and travel by air. Complete and pass ABI/FBI background check.

The purpose of the HVP is to support positive health, development, and well-being outcomes for parenting and pregnant women, families and infants born into poverty, expanding their future educational, economic, and financial capability opportunities, and improving the likelihood that they will exit poverty.
Training will be provided by the Preschool Services Department to hired candidates prior to the first meeting with children and families.

BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION

Role Summary
As an Associate Virtual Therapist with Here Now Health, you will provide compassionate, trauma-informed mental health care to Medicaid-covered youth and families impacted by foster care and related systems. The Assignment Ready Counselor (ARC) will provide coverage in short-term, surge and on demand situations resulting from the Military needs such as a post-deployment event or to cover an existing assignment for counselors who are absent. The Summer ARC counselor position covers assignments during the May 15th through September 15th time period, coinciding with the school summer break. With minimal guidance and oversight, provides the full breadth of Adult or Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. These services may include non- medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child daycare centers and schools, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting military personnel and their family members. ARC CYB counselors may be assigned to DoDEA schools and community schools and will need to have experience working in a school setting to qualify for ARC role in backing up a school position. CYB counselors may also be assigned to youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. ARC adult counselors may be assigned to support MFLC services in a variety of military community and readiness centers, as well as on-demand and surge assignments. The counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation.
Provides non-medical, short term, solution focused, counseling directly to adults, children, and youth of service members. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated.
CYB counselors will also have a focus on supporting the staff and personnel of CDCs, DoDEA and community schools, youth programs and summer camps as well as providing parent training and guidance.
Provides training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs and other base/installation activities.
Enters counselor activity data daily through smart phone or web application assure that reporting is accurate from assigned installation while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity of service / family member.

Role Summary
As a Virtual Licensed Therapist with Here Now Health, you will provide compassionate, trauma-informed mental health care to Medicaid-covered youth and families impacted by foster care and related systems. You will support clients navigating instability, system involvement, and complex trauma, often across multiple placements.
Our care model centers relational continuity, caregiver support, and evidence-informed clinical practice. You will join a collaborative, mission-driven team focused on transforming how care is delivered to system-impacted youth.
Key Responsibilities
Provide virtual one-on-one therapy to youth and caregivers using evidence-informed, trauma-focused modalities
Conduct clinical assessments and create collaborative, measurement-based care plans
Build relational continuity across transitions, serving clients through placement or life changes
Collaborate with non-clinical care advocates to ensure clients can access needed services
Offer caregiver support sessions to improve family stability and outcomes
Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation aligned with Medicaid and telehealth standards

What You Need

Minimum of two years of experience providing mental health care to children, adolescents, or families
Experience with or strong interest in foster care, adoption, or juvenile justice systems
Familiarity with trauma-informed and culturally responsive care
Comfort working virtually and using telehealth platforms
Ability to build trust and consistency with youth navigating instability or mistrust
Must successfully complete background checks required by Medicaid and/or child welfare systems
Approval to provide Medicaid-covered services or prior experience billing Medicaid is strongly preferred

Work Environment, Hours, and Compensation

The position may start as either a part-time W-2 employee or a 1099 independent contractor, based on therapist preference and licensure considerations. There is strong potential to grow into a full-time role as Here Now Health scales.
Minimum Availability

Responsibilities
Immersed in the FFT model only, you will deliver Evidence-Based Mental Health Services to adolescents, youth and children, as well as their families,
Managing a small caseload, you will travel daily to provide to, and on behalf of, youth and families in compliance with organizational, contract, and regulatory requirements.
Regularly reviews and modifies treatment plans to assure consistent progress and success of plan goals.
Must be willing to participate in training and consultation to obtain Functional Family Therapy (FFT) certification.
