Development specialist job at Professional
This position is responsible for the care and direct supervision of youth in the residential program ages 10-17. This position also performs a variety of tasks related to the operation of the residential program including management of youth meals; facility maintenance and ensuring a safe and healthy environment.
This position is an entry level position of the Youth DevelopmentSpecialist series and, as a result, will receive close supervision.
Shifts available:
Part-Time
Friday - Saturday 2:30pm - 10:30pm
Friday-Saturday 3pm-10:30pm
Friday-Saturday 11pm-7am

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides direct supervision and interaction with residents to include participation in all shelter activities.
Performs intake screening and paperwork.
Responds to incoming telephone calls, provides information and /or crisis intervention and produce written documentation.
Assists with the planning and leading of all recreational activities.
Transports clients as necessary to various community locations.
Attends all mandatory agency and staff meetings.
Monitors division of chores and completion of chores and overall client behavior and attitude to provide daily team rating.
Must maintain order and cleanliness of shelter and report needed repairs and maintenance to supervisor.
Supervises the self-administration of client medications and documents in appropriate shelter records.
Verifies medication upon intake and each shift worked.
Consistently implements the program's Behavior Motivation system.
Maintains client demographic information.
Documents daily client interaction and case management contacts.
Prepares/serves meals in cook's absence and supervise clean up as necessary.
Coordinates/organizes activities/events for youth.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High school diploma or GED required.
Two years general work experience with at least one-year full time work in a direct contact role with youth at risk or an equivalent number of work hours in a part-time or volunteer direct contact role. An associate's degree in behavioral science or related field may be substituted for two years of general work experience.
Must demonstrate awareness, acceptance, and willingness to work with the LGBTQ population.
Computer literacy and competency.
Efficient planner - must be able to organize and schedule work priorities.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions and judgments with youth safety and security foremost.
Must be able to appropriately handle confidential and sensitive information.
Must be able to accept responsibility.
Must be able to accept and follow through on supervisory direction.
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
Must be able to establish appropriate relationships and to effectively influence teens. in manner consistent with agency culture and philosophy.

Ability to communicate in a clear, effective manner both orally and written means.
Background compliant with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Valid Florida driver's license, clean driving record, and current automobile insurance.
Must be able to successfully pass (with a score of 85%) a competency exam related to the understanding of positive youth development and other related elements of position requirements by end of 90-day probationary period.

Overview
Gallagher Bassett Technical Services (GBTS) is a professional Industrial Hygiene (IH) and Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) consulting division of Gallagher Bassett. We are seeking a qualified Associate Project Specialist to become a valued member of Industrial Hygiene and Building Science Team in the Miami/Fort Lauderdale area. The ideal candidate for this position must be a motivated individual with the ability to conduct field assessments and generate quality deliverables with minor supervision.
Pay Range: $22.00 to $25.00 an hour depending on experience.
Location: Miami / Fort Lauderdale Area
Hours: M-F 8am - 4pm or something similar (may be required to work some nights and weekends)
How you'll make an impact
Position Summary:
Hybrid work location (e., home and office), reporting to a Senior Project Manager.
Anticipated > 50% travel throughout Florida, with potential for minimal travel throughout the United States.
Conduct various assessments, including but not limited to, pre-demolition/renovation hazardous building surveys (e.g., asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, etc.), indoor air quality (IAQ) assessments, moisture/mold damage assessments, worker exposure monitoring, and radon testing.
Hands-on experience with various exposure monitoring and sampling devices (e.g., moisture meter, high volume and personnel pumps, handheld direct-read devices, etc.).
Knowledgeable with applicable federal, state, and local regulations associated with field assessments (e.g., OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, FDEP, etc.).
Ability to generate reports based upon findings of fieldwork in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as current industry guidelines and best practices.
About You
Required:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
AHERA-certified Asbestos Inspector and/or Supervisor (preferred current status)
Minimum 1-3 years of professional experience in Environmental Consulting and Industrial Hygiene.
Valid driver's license and insurance for personal vehicle.
Computer competency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Home access to high-speed internet (computer and monitors provided).
Ability to navigate client properties, which could entail climbing, walking, and lifting at least 25 lbs.
Ability to pass a medical clearance physical to wear a respirator.
Ability to pass criminal background check.
Available on occasion for off-shift and weekend work or other field investigations which will require overnight stays.

Ensure all work orders are closed in the system with accurate finish reasons when notified of an end of assignment and appropriate departments are notified (i.e. security)
Assist with the collection of company assets from vendors (laptop, badges, etc.)
Assist and monitor time and expense entry to ensure appropriate approvals occur by hiring managers by required deadlines
Constant interaction with vendors to ensure new hire paperwork is completed in a timely manner to avoid onboarding delays
Log all client and vendor inquiries into Salesforce.com

* Background in various medical tools, platforms, and modalities to utilize modern technology to develop training modules needed for both face-to-face and remote audiences.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software.
