Work as part of a team providing crisis intervention to meet the needs of members of the community and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) patients who are in crisis. This includes responding to telephone calls on crisis intervention lines. Assess current level of dangerousness for patients who report a psychiatric crisis both by phone and in-office. Provide crisis case management services applying CCBHC practices, as needed. Work with adults and children to see that community resources are in place to meet the current needs of the patient. Provide emergency services on a short-term basis. Assist with efficient functioning of the Emergency Services Office. Support suicide prevention efforts in the community while upholding the mission and vision of COMCARE of Sedgwick County.
Direct Service.
* Provide direct service to patients in responding to telephone calls on multiple crisis intervention phone lines while concurrently documenting calls.
* Support the clinical staff in the community by assisting with Mobile Crisis Unit calls.
* Transport patients to the hospital when applicable and necessary.
* Provide crisis stabilization services to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis while they are in the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU).
* Manage distraught or psychotic patients who are in need of structure; monitor gross psychological and physical functions of patients.
* Collaborates with community partners, caregivers, family members, physicians and other treatment providers on a regular consistently until patient dismissal.
* Provide transportation to support patient attendance in medical appointments and other therapeutic goal related activities to include development of community resources, employment or education access, social or consumer-run activities and related supports.
* Identify and secure in-home services to maintain stabilization once patient returns home.
Documentation.
* Complete all progress notes in accordance with CCBHC and COMCARE guidelines which meet requirements for medical necessity, goal-directed treatment and patient response to treatment within prescribed timelines.
* Documentation meets minimum Medicaid standards for content and quality.
* Completes call logs to ensure important information is available to other providers.
General Administrative Duties.
* Processing Medicaid, state hospital, Level II and PRTF screens as they are received in the Emergency Services office and recording the screen/s on the Emergency Services (ES) office electronic board.
* Processing half-slips for walk-in and cop-in patients, including entering patient information onto the ES office electronic board in a timely manner.
* Identify sources of information needed to provide comprehensive mental health treatment and secure the necessary COMCARE consents to release information. Submit necessary referral forms to team supervisor for approval or assignment in electronic health record (EHR).
* Ensure all needed documentation and forms are completed and up-to-date for assigned SCOAP patients.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education. Per Sedgwick County policy, this is a driving level position that requires a valid US driver's license without restrictions and current proof of automobile insurance. Must have access to personal passenger vehicle to complete the driving duties of the position. Meet the specifications as outlined in the CMHC/CCBHC licensing standards and pass KBI, DCF child abuse check, adult abuse registry, and motor vehicle screens. Work as a team member in carrying out all duties in the center related to the daily support needs of program participants and the surrounding communities. Work with families to reach their individual potential for self-reliance through the development of Family Development Partnership and knowledge of community resources. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of FAMILY ADVOCATE:
Provide social services to assigned families according to the Head Start Performance Standards, under the direct supervision of the Family/Community Services Manager
Recruit families to apply for the Early Head Start and Head Start program within identified service
Maintain a wait list of eligible families and maintain contact with the families on the wait

Provide orientation to families upon approval for enrollment - completing all orientation/licensing
Build rapport with families and construct a Family Development Partnership with the families.

Ensure that no child is left alone on a bus or in any other potentially unsafe situation.
Immediately report incidents that could or did place a child at risk of injury.
Assure seat restraints are fastened for every child on the bus.
Adhere to all bus monitor training according to Policies and Procedures.
In the event of an emergency, assist children to exit the bus.
Distribute notes and communications to parents as directed by center teammates.
Maintain a positive atmosphere on the bus.
Unload ALL passengers on the right side of the road; NO ONE should be crossing the road.

JOB SUMMARY
The Healthy Families Home Visiting Family Support Specialist (FSS) is responsible for building trusting relationships with families based on the Healthy Families America model. The FSS will visit families in their homes to provide support in establishing positive home environments, promote strong attachments through the parent child relationships, and encourage the well-being of children and families. Utilizing an infant mental health approach, the FSS will practice reflective strategies to strengthen parent-child relationships, improve parenting skills, teach effective problem-solving, and reduce family stress. POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides immediate and ongoing assistance to Native American victims of crime, including domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, human trafficking, and elder abuse in Brown County, the Kickapoo Reservation, and surrounding areas. Provides advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, emotional support, resources and referrals, and case management services to victims.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Identify risk, safety plan, make referrals, coordinate services, and plan for a healthy future by providing case management services and coordinating client needs with collateral agency services.
Responds to calls, walk-ins, and crises. Provide emergency assistance, confer with law enforcement and prosecutors. Assist with court orders, making provisions to meet observed and stated needs within program guidelines. Conducts phone and in-person assessments.
Networks with service agencies to inform and educate regarding the impact of violence in tribal communities, inform and educate community partners regarding the unique experience of Native Americans experiencing violence and the system responses to them, promote the TVS Program, brainstorm, and suggest options and alternatives for victims.

Requirements:
At a minimum, hold an associate degree in psychology, social work, criminal justice, or other social service-related field or a High School Diploma/GED and certification as an advocate. Department: COMCARE Pay: Unpaid Practicum. Work Schedule: THESE ARE UNPAID POSITIONS AND ONLY AVAILABLE TO CURRENT STUDENTS WORKING TOWARDS THEIR BACHELOR's OR MASTER's DEGREE The Community Crisis Center is a 24-hour resource for mental health assistance and suicide prevention.
More than 70,000 calls are processed through the crisis hotline annually. In addition to telephone intervention, the Community Crisis Center provides face-to-face intervention services, including a mobile crisis unit. When a client comes to the Community Crisis Center facility, clinical staff are available for intervention, crisis treatment planning and to provide referrals to other community resources. When appropriate, the client will see a medical provider to assess the need for medication.
Practicum students are an integral part of the crisis services that we provide. Practicum students typically engage with clients and provide suicide prevention services through assessments and interventions either by phone or in person at the Community Crisis Center. Practicum students may also provide services to clients in our Crisis Observation Unit and/or Crisis Stabilization Unit. These units provide a safe, community-based alternative to psychiatric hospitalization.
Crisis Intervention Services (CIS) and Same Day Access
