Davis Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time Family Peer SupportSpecialist (FPSS) to join the Children, Youth, and Families Mental Health team. The Family Peer SupportSpecialist (FPSS) works closely with families who have children and adolescents with complex mental health needs. They offer hope, guidance, advocacy, and camaraderie for parents and caregivers of children and youth receiving services from mental health, substance use, and related services systems. They bring expertise based on their own experience parenting a child or youth with social, emotional, behavioral, or substance use challenges, as well as specialized training, to support other parents and caregivers. Essential Job Functions
The Children, Youth, and Families FPSS is responsible for the following job duties:

Facilitate recovery groups as appropriate.
Develop working relationships with partner agencies to effectively facilitate referrals and coordination of services.
Provide individual and family psychoeducation via workshops, presentations, etc.
Coordinate with other staff and community agencies as needed.
Participate in regular staff meetings and regularly scheduled supervision.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is outlined below:
$19.00 per hour
Schedule
This is a full-time position and is normally assigned to weekdays. This schedule may require three evenings per week. DBH reserves the right to require overtime, weekend work, and/or assignment to evening or night shifts, depending upon operational need, some in and out of state travel may be required.
The proposed schedule for this position is:
Monday 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
Wednesday & Thursday 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Work schedules at DBH are established to meet the needs of our clients and the agency. Program Supervisors, with the approval of Program Directors, determine the specific schedules for their assigned departments and have the authority to ask employees to work a different shift and/or in a different location on a short-term or permanent basis to meet the departments' needs.
Required Qualifications
Experience
The FPSS certification requires that an individual be a parent or other family member of a child or youth who has struggled with a serious emotional disturbance and has received mental health and/or substance use treatment and support services.
Experience working with youth/young adults and families.
Education
High school diploma or GED is required.
Bachelor's degree in related field is highly preferred but not required.
Certification/Licensure
The successful candidate must be certified as a Family Peer SupportSpecialist (FPSS) by the Office of Substance Use and Mental Health. Click here for details on obtaining FPSS certification.
Certification as a FPSS must be completed as soon as possible, but no later than 6 months after hire.
The successful candidate must also complete certification as a Behavioral Health Case Manager (BHCM) with the Utah Department of Health and Human services within the first 30 days of employment. Click here for details on BHCM certification.
Training
Obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of employment.
Complete behavior management training (Welle) within 30 days of employment.
Complete all required training that is assigned to the Family Peer SupportSpecialist position by defined deadlines.

Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
All employees at DBH must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check as well as a pre-employment drug screening. Since Davis Behavioral Health works with Federal grants the company and its employees must comply with the Federal drug laws, including no use of medical marijuana.
Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
A clean driving record is also required to utilize the DBH vehicle fleet.

Essential Job Functions
Provide crisis counseling, advocacy, and coaching to adults and families in crisis due to domestic and/or sexual violence, stalking, and elder abuse.
Monitor campus security in collaboration with all staff, to protect and ensure safety and well-being of program participants, staff, and visitors.
Support program participants in achieving their self-determined program goals through empathic listening and presence, providing individualized case management and referrals to SLAFJC community partners, supportive services, and resources in the community.
Establish and secure case files to uphold client confidentiality.
Conduct initial intake assessments, including performing risk assessment, needs assessment, safety planning, and goal setting. Provide clear information on risk to participants and assist in creating comprehensive safety plans.
Support each program participant in achieving their self-determined plan with courteous, timely and meaningful help, including:

Essential Duties

Position Summary
The Youth Advocate position exists to support homeless and at-risk youth as they move toward stability, self-sufficiency, and independence. We do this through offering shelter, basic needs, referrals, resources, and individualized case plans to 15-22 year old youth.
Essential Duties
* Engages with youth in case plans or conversations with the intent to empower them in identifying and then making positive choices toward stability as well as assisting them in accessing emergency shelter.
* Ensures a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and clients and assesses medical emergencies and provides CPR/First Aid as needed.
* Answers phones, greets clients, volunteers, donors, and other visitors in a friendly and professional manner and provides assistance as needed.
* Attends regular staff meetings, shift change meetings, and one on one meetings with supervisor as scheduled.
* Utilizes the onsite supervisor on the on-call system for guidance and support and follow appropriate protocol for covering shifts in the event of illness, vacation, or other time off.

* Ensures that all paperwork related to client and program activities is in accordance with licensing and contract requirements, properly completed, managed confidentially, and stored appropriately.
