Your Mission in Action The Family Services Worker (FSW) provides trauma informed, strengths based case management and direct services to foster care or adoptive children, parents, and their families, including but not limited to individual counseling, prevention, administration, advocacy on behalf of the child, parents, and/or families with social services, the court, police, school, and other medical and mental health providers and professionals in accordance to Agency and licensing standards and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Conduct regular home visits and on-going assessment to assess child safety, wellbeing and placement stability to ensure foster care children and homes remain viable for placement and meeting their specific needs Develop and implement a case plan to establish individualized goals focusing on healing and permanency using appropriate and necessary resources to maintain placement, minimize risk and provide for the safety of the children. Ensure children's voices and needs are prioritized in case planning while advocating for necessary services in collaboration with their service planning team to provide comprehensive care. Program and Direct Services Identify and address the needs of survivors for support services in the WCET service area. Provide acute crisis intervention and comprehensive peer support to survivors and their families across all the counties served by WCET. Provide legal advocacy, including but not limited to assistance in accessing protective orders, navigating the criminal legal system/process and civil legal remedies. Provide support to clients when visiting with their attorneys by accompanying them to appointments if desired. Provide housing and residential support to all clients including assistance with rent, utilities, legal support, and other residential needs. Follow WCET programs and processes to support survivors in developing a plan for self-sufficiency. Complete required paperwork and data entries, by the next business day, to document services provided. Comply with standards issued by WCET and its funders. Model healthy and positive relationships within the agency and other community partners to ensure optimal utilization of resources and efficient management of the program. Presents educational and Life Skill classes to assist clients with basic education on these topics. * Guides and assists clients in complying with facility rules and regulations. Supervises client work functions in accordance with program policies such as morning wake up routines according to established schedules. * Monitors client behavior and reports incidents, inappropriate or unusual behaviors to appropriate treatment team staff.
