Production Operator (Nights) This position is responsible for daily operations of the production floor; ensuring the shift meets established safety, quality, and production goals in compliance with all applicable legal and food safety requirements.
Essential Functions
Responsible for daily activities of the production line(s), ensuring product adheres to Niagara's standard of safety, quality, and throughput.
Accurately completes applicable quality and production reports hourly. Physical and visual inspection of product is required to prevent non-conforming goods. Correctly reports all quality defects to the appropriate team members and shift leadership.
Adheres to the highest standards of company and plant safety programs, guidelines, rules, and regulations.
Abides by Niagara's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Standards at all times.
Maintains general housekeeping in all areas of production and additional areas assigned by plant leadership.
Maintains appropriate level of raw materials as required, to ensure production lines incur minimal downtime.
Demonstrates the aptitude and skill to work in all assigned areas of production; troubleshoots minor production line issues and performs relief duties when required.
Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Ability to work 12 hour shifts, day or night, on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule or schedule as dictated by production demand.

Qualifications
Preferred applicants will have:
Industrial or manufacturing work experience with a good work record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and pass a physical abilities test.
Some computer experience.
Ability to work rotating shifts (day shift and night shift).
Ability to be on your feet during a 12 hour shift.
Have an understanding that you will work some weekends and holidays as the mill runs 24 hours per day/365 days per year.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Have the ability to work a flexible schedule as the entry level workers will fill in for absences and general needs of the mill (days off may vary each week initially, and will work full time hours).
Ability to work overtime as needed.
Additional Information
Pay is $25.98-$26.70 per hour (or more) after 30 days ($20 per hour for the first 30 days).
Production job rates range from $25.98 to $38.41 per hour depending on the position. Advancement is based on a seniority and qualification system. All hours worked on Sunday's are time and one half rate. Night shift premium is $.94 per hour in addition to job rate.

Key Responsibilities
Process and package fresh and frozen food products (including shellfish)
Rotate through various positions on the production line including sorting, labeling, weighing, packing, sealing, loading, and unloading
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures

Perform visual inspections of products to ensure quality standards are met
Follow instructions from supervisors and team leads and be flexible to shift tasks as needed

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
* Set up and validate production machinery for proper operation.
* Assist with machine operation to ensure smooth and efficient running and production of quality products.
* Utilize a variety of hand tools to accomplish primary job functions.
* Obtain materials required for production run.
* Learn to operate production equipment computer interface and process monitoring systems.
* Assist in the inspection of products during production runs.

The Machine Operator position is a member of the CNC Machine Shop team, responsible for producing high quality parts and working collaboratively with good productivity and low scrap rate. This position is a full time position based in Ferndale, WA on our night shift (Sun-Thurs, 10:00pm-6:30am).
Essential Responsibilities:
* Set up and operate mechanical equipment including lathes, mills, saws, oven, blenders, grinders, polishing equipment, counting equipment, and hand tools.
* Run production, monitoring parts and equipment to ensure accurate high quality parts are made safely and as efficiently as possible.
* Complete required paperwork including but not limited to production batches, work orders, time sheets, mainte-nance log, and transfer sheets.
* Assemble parts according to specifications; follow prints or verbal directions to put together parts using hand and power tools and other assembly as necessary.
* Master all critical manufacturing operations: forklift driving, sawing, deburring, tumbling, dishwasher / washing and polishing.
* Skilled at using standard shop tools: arbor press, hammer, nails, ruler, tape measure, vise, weigh scale, assem-bly drawing, shop prints.
* Use blueprints and design sketches to ensure the proper dimensions and tolerance levels of finished parts.
* Follow safe machine shop practices and directions, asking questions as needed to do the assigned work.
* Contribute ideas to improve manufacturing processes.
* Inform shop lead of situations that may pose a significant risk to the products, facilities and employee safety or customer satisfaction.
* Ensures thorough housekeeping and organization of work areas.
