Far West Inc history

In 1988 Ron Frashour sold his interest in the company to John.

The 1991 Recycling Act established curbside recycling in Oregon communities with a population of over 4,000 as the primary means of recycling household materials.

The team grew from the original four to 25 by 1993 to accommodate the steady surge of orders and revenues.

By the end of 1994 the plants and Sales and Marketing divisions were functioning as equal partners and contributing to the success of FWR.

Neighborhood Recycling became a part of the FWR family in October 1995, when one of the oldest recycling facilities in Portland was in danger of closing their doors.

It took more than four years of toil, savings and pressure to earn enough for Jeff and his mom to take full ownership of FarWest Fabricators in 1998.

In 1999 FWR expanded to Northern California with the addition to the Sales and Marketing Division of our Southwest Brokerage Manager.

But in response to an opportunity, he bought FarWest Fabricators’ first machining center in 2000.

Over the years, John Drew has shared his ownership of the company with key management and in 2005, John passed the reigns of the company to President & CEO, Keith Ristau.

Far West Contractors Corp was established by Steve Aguilar and Rick Gutierrez in 2009 with a vision to provide exceptional Project Management and Construction Management Services.
