Randolph-Macon College seeks applications for a full-time Farm/Stable Worker to work at its RMC Equestrian Center. This is a 12-month, mandatory live-on position with housing provided. The Center is located three miles from our Ashland campus, boasts 70 acres of pasture, has space for 56 horses, and includes an indoor riding arena, two large outdoor areas, and space for riding outside.
Responsibilities:
* Primary duties include assisting with the daily care of all horses and ponies stabled or kept on premises, owned by the college, boarded or on lease. This includes handling of horses bringing in and turning out, feeding, watering, blanketing and observing horses for injury or illness and maintaining the cleanliness of the barn and surrounding property.
* Secondary duties include basic farm work: overall care and presentation of facility, fence repair, cutting grass, weed eating, ring maintenance, trash removal, etc.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED along with experience working with horses and farm equipment.
* Prior experience as a farm/stable worker required.
* Comfort level in working and physically handling horses on the farm.
* The position is classified as essential personnel by the College.

Under general supervision, performs specialized skilled work in the operation of one or more types of motorized heavy equipment used in the transfer of refuse and debris from collection sites to the SPSA landfill for the Public Works Department. General Summary of the Position

The asphalt paving equipment operator safely operates a variety of motorized equipment used in the preparation, repair, reconstruction, and construction of site work and asphalt paving projects. The operator must perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in accordance with the essential functions of the position.
Essential Functions

MPS provides back office support, warehousing, and, fulfillment for Macmillan US, and is their primary distribution facility for North America.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for operating all rolling equipment to move, locate, relocate, pick, and stack product. Accurately counts product; ensuring the product is free of damage for inbound and outbound shipments and assuring all paperwork, labeling, and addressing of orders to correspond to in-house and customer specifications or other requirements. The rolling equipment operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operating of all the equipment; performing other duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
* Picks cartons and loose stock from back-up rack locations and moves product to assigned staging areas for replenishment to forward pick locations and full case/pallet picks to proper staging areas.
* Places labels on cartons properly oriented for system scanners.
* Loads cartons on conveyor and/or drop zone.
* Places product in designated picking locations.
* Places full pallet and partial pallet picks in designated areas.
* Assists in unloading in bound freight and stages in proper staging areas.
* Assists in loading outbound trucks.
* Counts to make sure inbound and outbound freight has correct full pallet, case quantities.
* Inspects cartons/pallets for damage.
* Prepares product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded for shipment.
* Ensures that receipts/orders are complete and counts verified.
* Uses various devices for picking (scanners and Pick-To-Voice).
* Inspects all books for damage and corrects quantity that is rejected at the QC scale.
* Inspects and packs special orders.
* Maintains various quality control reports that monitor picking accuracy by picker.
* Returns overpicks and mispicks to the Pick Module.
* Keeps lead or supervisor advised of any shortages, problems, and incorrect labels/markings.
* Packs books/components in cartons using various dunnage materials to eliminate damage in transit.
* Ensures that all work instructions are followed exactly and updates the lead or supervisor when completed.
* Uses computer systems and instructions to return product to inventory.
* Ensures the accuracy of all receipt/shipping documents.
* Ensures the receipt/shipping counts match all documents and bill of ladings.
* Assists in resolving any discrepancies.
* Assists in cycle counting.
* Retrieves books from Pick Module and rack storage to complete order.
* Puts away stock in assigned locations.
* Unloads trucks with rolling equipment.
* Stages stock in assigned P&D locations, full case picks to assigned P&D location using equipment and doing it physically.
* Removes plastic covering from skids/pallets of books using a box cutter.
* Restacks pallets of books from one pallet to another.
* Uses WMS to record moves and transfers stock.
* Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
* Conducts operations in a manner which promotes safety.
* Enforces established safety, health, and housekeeping policies and procedures in order to minimize injuries, loss of production time, and damage.

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team in New Castle, VA. This position will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and participating in all aspects of the daily operation of the sand plant.
Responsibilities
Daily operation of heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, front end loaders, articulated haul trucks, and water trucks
Daily maintenance of equipment
Assist in the daily operations and maintenance of the plant, pit, and associated equipment as directed
Be available for weekend and/or “after hours” work, as business needs dictate
Other duties may be assigned as needed
Qualifications
Previous heavy equipment operating experience is preferred
Excellent mechanical aptitude
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge of surface mining and sand production, practices and applications
Knowledge of workplace safety practices
