The Herdsperson assists other Herd Technicians in routine animal care and general farm tasks to ensure the welfare/well-being of the animals. Tasks include farm sanitation, animal removal, and animal movement. Employee may operate mowers, tractors, trucks, bus, and other farm equipment as directed. May be in training for advanced Herd Technician designation. The Herdsperson position will also provide for the care of all animals at the designated work site, particularly their health, growth, and breeding.
Core Responsibilities
Feeds, waters, vaccinates, and performs general animal husbandry tasks including basic veterinary procedures.
Maintains flexibility with a willingness to change plans according to the direction of farm leadership.
Assists in moving animals and maintaining efficient animal flows.
Sanitizes and washes multiple areas on the farm using high pressure equipment.
Processes piglets, which includes: Injecting medications, castrating, docking tails, and ear notching.
Maintains accurate production information and update all department records as required.
Treats sick animals with a variety of pharmaceuticals by injection, oral application, and/or other methods as required.
Follows the Standard Operation Procedures, Production Manuals, or Appropriate Training Guides as required.
Assists with facility and equipment maintenance.
Assists with maintaining barn, office cleanliness, and laundry duties.
Follows the Company's animal welfare policies and procedures including: providing a physical environment that meets the animal's needs, providing access to adequate water and high quality feed, providing humane treatment of the animals, providing identification and appropriate treatment of animals in need of health care and following the guidelines for euthanasia.
Responsible for complying with all environmental, safety and biosecurity laws and procedures.

Additional Requirements:
Two years' experience on the following:
accepting petroleum products into all storage facilities in accordance with ATA 103 established procedures and quality controls;
quality control of fuel and facility inspections and integrity of fuel systems;
maintenance of fuel inventories, truck receipt logs and bill of ladings;
periodic and scheduled inspections;
assisting mechanics for scheduled and unscheduled repairs and maintenance;
working at truck racks and fuel storage tanks with the ability to climb/use safety equipment to the top of fuel tanks and truck racks;
maintenance and updating daily records, truck receiving logs and inspection forms.
Ability to proficiently use and read a measuring tape
Ability to proficiently use basic hand tools
Ability to proficiently use a computer
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to follow processes and procedures as well as take direction from leadership
Ability to work as part of a team.

About the Role
Superior Industrial Maintenance is looking for multiple Field Laborers to assist on various jobs that span the U.S. This role will work in multiple different areas performing general labor functions such as painting, prepping worksites, cleaning and maintaining worksites, and more. The Field Laborer will primarily be working in heavy industrial locations around the southeastern part of the United States, but travel may be throughout the U.S. General knowledge of worksite safety, painting, coatings and surface preparation is required and experience in the construction trades is a major plus.
Complete surface preparation with SSPC/NACA AMP standards.
Set up containment to protect customer assets on projects.
Pressure wash to remove surface contaminants from surfaces before coatings applications.
Follows and reviews all safety operating protocol outlined by Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foreman on the job.
Requirements
OSHA 10 certification or ability to complete OSHA 10 certification within first week of start date (company paid).
Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Able to kneel, crouch, bend over, and stand for more than 8 hours at a time.
Ability to communicate through both written and verbal communication.
1-2 years experience with labor, painting, coatings or in the general construction industry.
Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States and work weekends/holidays.
