KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Primary Driving and Hauling Responsibilities Operate standard transmission vehicles Haul grain from fields to the Farm during both small-grain and fall harvest periods Fill and transport water using straight dump trucks fitted with tanks to and from tomato fields during planting season Load and haul spray trailers (flatbed semi trailers with tanks) to support tomato crop growth and harvest ? Frequently “drop and hook” trailers during tomato season. Load, transport, and dump manure from horse or dairy farms to our compost facility using dump trucks or semi truck and trailer combinations Deliver compost from the compost facility to customer sites and farm fields using appropriate vehicles ? Haul grain to and from the Farm and various grain facilities, including unloading trailers (manual crank handle) ? Deliver palletized loads of seed or grain using van trailers, flatbed trucks, or pickup with flatbed trailers Farm Equipment and General Support Rotate vehicles and equipment to and from shops, performing maintenance and Department of Transportation (DOT) as needed General support for all team members Fleet Maintenance Maintain stock of truck parts and consumables including fluid, bulbs, spare houses, etc. ? Schedule routine fleet maintenance and coordinate repairs with the Hirzel Transfer Fleet Manager as needed ? Schedule and Coordinate repairs with fleet manager Provide support for the maintenance team by running for parts and being a helper when needed EMPLOYEE EXPECTATIONS Able to work Saturdays and Sundays when required (generally occurs during pack season) ? Will be required to dolly up and down trailer legs multiple times a day during tomato harvest season. This position requires willingness and ability to work in an agricultural setting. The environment in the warehouse is noisy, dusty, and hot, depending on the weather and what is being run through the food-grade facility at times. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a valid CDL class “A” (air brakes) driver's license Must be able to operate standard transmission.
