Farm Pride company history timeline

1976

Tim Spatz and his wife Lynn have operated a diversified farm west of Pierce since 1976 raising corn, soybeans, alfalfa, and native hay.

1980

Fresh from his graduation at Cornell, Mark Sellew started at Prides Corner in 1980 to work with his father and to realize his dream of becoming a major grower in the northeast.

1988

He began his farming career in 1988 when he graduated from Osmond High School.

1994

Derek started farming in 1994 after graduating from Wayne State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting and agribusiness.

2003

In 2003, he began to experiment with a full no-till system, including cover crops, and currently is one of the few operations in his area that has stayed with this practice, growing it to approximately 1500 acres.

2005

He has been a director of the Battle Creek board since the merger in August 2005.

2013

In March 2013, Chad and his wife Kari returned to Newman Grove to farm and raise their family.
