GRANT SUMMARY The goal of Project Forward is to reduce incidences of American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) veteran suicide and suicidal ideation in the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB). The long-term community goal is to meet the health, social services, and well-being of AI/AN veterans in the FNSB. The project will provide a full continuum of culturally resonant suicide prevention, intervention, treatment, and support services. JOB DUTIES Develops and facilitates provider and community suicide prevention/intervention training, including Evidence-Based Programs; Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) , and Counseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM) that include support services, working with participants and the treatment team to promote overall health and wellbeing of FNSB AI/AN veterans. Develops, conducts, assesses, and refines Community Mobilization/Awareness activities. Supports and trains community Suicide Response Team. Supports and coordinates the Behavioral Health Community Coalition (BHCC).
