Farmers National company history timeline

1929

The year was 1929 - - the year the stock market crashed and precipitated an era of meager profits for agriculture and a generally precarious existence for many.

1930

The depression and financial turbulence of the 1930's brought modest profits for Farmers National Company, but the company persevered and persisted, bearing out the contention that non-resident ownership of farmland could be profitable.

1939

By 1939, the young company was already managing 1,000 farms for non-resident landowners.

1946

J.C. ‘s son, J.P. (Pat) Hamilton, started working for the bank in 1946.

1959

In 1959, Farmers National Bank provided the first drive-in facility on Walnut Street.

1970

A branch office was opened in Hagerman in 1970.

1973

Soon after, in 1973, the Hagerman office was moved to Wendell.

1978

An automated, 24-hour teller machine was installed in 1978, the first of its kind in the area.

1986

In 1986 Metropolitan Life Insurance Company purchased Farmers National Company.

1989

In 1989 a third office was started at 890 Shoshone St in Twin Falls.

2000

The year 2000 ushered in a new era for Farmers National Company when the employees of Farmers National Company purchased the company from Met Life.

2008

Shortly after, in April of 2008, our sixth office was added for your convenience on Pole Line Road in Twin Falls.

2014

Starting in 2014, a fourth generation of Hamilton's joined the family business continuing the tradition laid down by their grandfather and great-grandfather.

2017

In 2017, the bank introduced the areas first Interactive Teller Machine.

2020

As of December 31, 2020, bank assets totaled more than 561 million dollars.

2022
