Farmingdale State College invites applications for a Full-Time Academic Coach position in Psychology to support the Direct Support Professional (DSP) Microcredential program. This program is designed to enhance the academic and career success of Direct Support Professionals across New York State. The Academic Coach for the DSP Microcredential Program performs many critical functions for the Program including providing oversight to a collaboration between the College, community partners, the State University of New York (SUNY), the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and the National Alliance of Direct Support Professionals (NADSP) and serving as the primary student-facing team member. Oversight will include student orientation and registration of current and new DSP cohorts and monitoring of student progress and success. As a result, excellent communication, exceptional organization, strong data/records management skills, and reliability/dependability, are paramount to the position. The successful candidate will be a strong planner capable of juggling multiple priorities and observing tight deadlines without compromising quality or service.
Responsibilities
* Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with agency partners (SUNY, NADSP, OPWDD).
* Attend ongoing meetings related to the microcredential program provided by SUNY, NADSP, and OPWDD.
* Manage student recruitment efforts and hold regular program information sessions for prospective incoming students.
* Facilitate student enrollment in FSC courses and oversee orientation to the NADSP badging process.
* Serve as network administrator for NADSP Badging system.
* Set up badging for new students through NADSP.
* Monitor progress of students through the NADSP technology platform.
* Connect students with other on-campus resources (Tutoring Center, Health Services, Mental Health Counseling, Disability Service Center, etc.).
* Provide data on student progress as requested by the Program Director and program instructors.
* Facilitate team meetings between instructors and academic coaches to foster communication on student outcomes.
* Provide oversight and support to program instructors; including management and resolution of concerns related to student progress and engagement.
* Facilitate and secure new and ongoing Provider Partnerships and agreements.
* Facilitate planning meetings between Farmingdale State College and Community Provider Partners for the design, development, and feedback on the DSP micro-credentials.
* Provide feedback to SUNY on program outcomes as requested.
* Provide feedback to NADSP on program outcomes as requested.
* Provide feedback to OPWDD on program outcomes as requested.
* Plan and coordinate the program completion recognition ceremonies.
This position requires flexibility, with availability to work evenings, and weekends as needed to meet operational requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Background in a supervisory or leadership position.
* Experience with student advisement.
* Prior work experience as a direct support professional.
* Teaching experience at the college level.
* Experience with assessment of student learning.

Service & Repair Mechanics (HVAC-R) are responsible for the operation, maintenance, repair and installation of heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment. Incumbents, as specialists, are responsible for supervising and training other members of the operation and maintenance staff including skilled, semiskilled and unskilled workers, in servicing and repairing heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
Service & Repair Mechanics (HVAC-R) are responsible for journey level work in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment. This includes overhauling compressors, pumps and electric motors, replacing parts and controls, and installing new equipment.
The types of equipment Service & Repair Mechanics (HVAC-R) work with include ammonia brine, freon, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, methyl chloride and lithium bromide units, absorption cold generators, all types of coolers, refrigerators and freezers, air-conditioning units and systems, humidifiers, compressors, ventilators, cooling towers, and other related equipment.
Performs required periodic maintenance and emergency repairs on heating, refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
* Inspects, tests, diagnoses trouble and dismantles malfunctioning systems and components.
* Overhauls compressors, pumps and electric motors, replacing parts as necessary.
* Overhauls and replaces control devices, calibrating and recalibrating them as necessary.
* Rewires electrical systems of components as necessary.
* Performs seasonal start-up and shut-down operations on air-conditioning units and systems to ensure efficient operation and to prevent freeze-ups.
* Locates and seals leaks in both gas and brine units, removes air from lines and replaces with proper refrigerant.
Installs new equipment both as replacement units and new installations.
* Studies blueprints and schematic drawings to identify the location, size and type of components.
* Lays out reference points for the installation of components using structural measuring tools.
* As necessary assembles components of system for installation following written and schematic instructions.
* Mounts compressors, condensers and other components in specified locations.
* Cuts, threads and connects or welds tubing to inlets and outlets of components.
* Installs control mechanisms with wrenches and acetylene torches.
* Tests lines, connections and components for leaks with leak detector which indicates the presence of refrigerant.
* May install electric wiring to connect components to power source.
* Records temperature and pressure readings from gauges and temperature potentiometer and compares readings with manufacturer's specifications.
* Adjusts controls to bring readings within specifications as required.
As assigned, supervises and trains Service & Repair Assistants (HVAC-R), Plant Utilities Assistants, and other trades positions in the repair and maintenance of refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment.
* Assigns work to staff providing oral and written instructions and diagrams as necessary.
* Demonstrates proper methods and procedures for performing work.
* Observes and inspects work in progress and at its completion to insure work is properly done.
* Performs journey level work as required.
As required, operates a motor vehicle to transport material, equipment and personnel to job sites around campus.

Apprenticeship training in the mechanical or electrical trades or training gained by completion of technical courses in the mechanical or electrical trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
* Successful completion of the traineeship and the training program includes a total of 288 hours of trade-specific class room instruction, 45 hours of technical math course work, 45 hours of technical communications course work, and 15 hours of blueprint/schematic reading course work. Course work must be completed with an average of "C" or better. Additionally, successful completion of the traineeship also includes 4,000 hours of on-the-job training.
When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.

As the College embarks on a strategic initiative to deepen its commitment to faculty scholarship and high-impact undergraduate research, it seeks an experienced and results-oriented leader to direct its central sponsored programs office. The Director will play a crucial role in developing the vision, infrastructure, and culture necessary to increase external funding substantially.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive partner to our faculty, helping them identify promising funding opportunities and develop compelling proposals. The Director will provide hands-on support throughout the grant lifecycle and serve as a key champion for scholarly and creative activities across campus. The Director will oversee all aspects of pre- and post-award administration, manage a small team of grant specialists, and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and service. This role is critical for scaling the University's capacity to secure and manage a larger and more complex portfolio of grants and contracts from federal, state, and industry partners. The successful candidate will be an expert in federal regulations and will work to foster a robust culture of compliance and research integrity. The Director reports to the Senior Vice President and Provost, and works closely with the Chief Financial Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with academic leadership to develop and implement a strategic plan for growing the College's portfolio of sponsored research and programs.
* Operational Management: Direct the day-to-day operations of the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), including supervising professional staff, managing the office budget, and optimizing workflows through the use of electronic research administration systems. Serves as SUNY Research Foundation Operations Manager on campus.
* Faculty Development & Support: Proactively identify and disseminate funding opportunities from federal, state, foundation, and corporate sources (e.g., NSF, NIH, private foundations) that align with faculty expertise.
* Pre-Award Services: Lead team to provide expert guidance and assistance to faculty and staff in all aspects of proposal development. Provide final institutional review and approval for all external grant and grant-related contract applications.
* Post-Award and Financial Management: Provide comprehensive oversight of post-award functions, including award negotiation and acceptance, subcontracting, financial reporting, effort certification, and award closeout. Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance).
* Strategic Collaboration: Partner with the President, Provost, and academic deans to identify and prioritize strategic funding opportunities. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with federal program officers, foundation representatives, and industry partners. Works closely with legal advisors, including SUNY Research Foundation Central Office, on issues and opportunities, including technology transfer, collaborative research agreements, and program audits.
* Compliance & Training: Coordinates with SUNY Research Foundation in assuring all mandated procedures and policies are followed. Develop and deliver workshops and training for faculty on grant writing and research ethics, academic misconduct, pre-award budgeting, etc.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in sponsored research administration in a university setting.
* Demonstrated success in assisting faculty with securing external funding.
* Broad knowledge of major funding sources, including federal agencies (especially NSF and NEH) and private foundations.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills, with a strong customer-service orientation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Terminal degree (PhD, JD, etc.).
* Certified Research Administrator (CRA) designation.
* Supervisory experience.
* Experience implementing or managing electronic research administration (eRA) software (e.g., Cayuse, Kuali).
* Experience conducting outreach to funding agencies on behalf of the university to promote faculty research, develop relationships, and identify opportunities.
* Experience creating training programs for faculty and staff.

This is a part-time 30-hour a week position reporting to the Director of Disability Services. The part-time proctor is responsible for managing the testing environment and processes in the Disability Services Center. This includes but is not limited to:
