The selected candidate may be expected to teach day and evening classes. The college also offers courses at an off-campus extended site in Eastern LI, and individuals hired into this position may be scheduled to teach courses at this location. All faculty members at Farmingdale State College have three workload components: teaching (12 contact hours per semester), research and scholarly activity, and service. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching. Candidates should have a research agenda that complements their area of academic specialty resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentation, both of which are necessary for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College. The service component of the workload includes student advisement as well as active participation on departmental, school and college-wide committees. Job Responsibilities The Golisano Institute for Developmental Disability Nursing (GIDDN) is committed to promoting health equity for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through the vehicle of nursing. The GIDDN develops and deploys educational content to nursing students and residents, professionals, and leaders in healthcare, through a variety of synchronous and asynchronous learning activities, both directly and via distribution partners. In addition to support from the Golisano Foundation, the Golisano Institute is the recipient of multiple grants. The current and largest grant is a 5-year research study with Rush University funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), entitled Ending Diagnostic Overshadowing: Addressing Ableism in the Health Care Context. The Institute is a sub-awardee for this grant which seeks to identify mechanisms of diagnostic overshadowing and to develop educational programs for the health care workforce to end diagnostic overshadowing and improve health outcomes for people with disabilities. Along with this prestigious grant, the Golisano Institute has several additional ongoing grants that focus on improving health equity for people with developmental disabilities. The Golisano Institute is seeking an experienced Program Manager (PM) to oversee multiple grant-funded projects, with 50% of effort consigned to the NIH grant and the remaining 50% of effort consigned to other grant-funded projects. Across the collective portfolio of grant projects, the PM will support the grant's Principal Investigator and/or Co-Investigator to ensure: (1) successful implementation based on the grant aims/goals (2) compliance with ethical standards for research, funding, and legal requirements, and (3) alignment across partner institutions and with the Institute's own strategic goals.
