GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
UNIT DESCRIPTION:
This 72 bed Telemetry/Step-down unit practices patient and family centered care. Our unit consists of highly motivated, skilled Nurses, Nursing Assistants, and Telemetry Technicians working together as a team. PCU cares for a wide variety of critically ill patients who require cardiac drips with need for titration, insulin Drips, CAPD (Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis), ventilated patients, and those that require a higher level of supportive care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The Nursing Assistant assists in patient care throughout nursing areas and is responsible for the following:
