Farnsworth Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Energy & Utilities in one of the below posting locations. In this role you will assume multi-project responsibilities for full Electrical design, including Power Distribution, Controls, Renewable Energy Systems, Medium Voltage Systems, Substations, Lighting and Communications for Oil & Gas, Industrial, Advanced Manufacturing and Renewable Energy markets. Candidate will actively engage in and assume responsibility for:
Code research and application
Fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions.
Preliminary schematics through final designs
Calculations
Equipment specifications, sizing, and layout
Coordination with other production staff and other engineering disciplines
Preparation of accurate Electrical system construction drawings and specifications
Submittal review and construction administration.
Power systems studies
Candidate will interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors and maintain project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality.
This role includes responsibility for mentoring designers and drafters.
This role reports to an engineering manager, who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
Specific Requirements include:
Electrical engineer with 4-8 years of experience in technically complex system design.
BS in Electrical Engineering. EIT designation required, Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred.
Wide range of design experience, including industrial power distribution, controls and MV systems.
Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with others and work on multiple, simultaneous projects.
Ability to solve complex power engineering problems.
Experience in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
Working knowledge of codes and standards associated with electrical power, including National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, and applicable IEEE Standards.
Ability to pass background checks and willingness to comply with immunization requirements that our industrial clients may require to access their facilities.
Ability to complete occasional travel to client sites in support of projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
NCEES Record holder preferred.
Knowledge of Navisworks software preferred.
Knowledge of SKM PowerTools, Easy Power and/or ETAP preferred.

Position Summary:
Professional Experience and Education
Minimum 3 years of construction experience, with at least 1 year in OSM, modular construction, or related prefabrication environments preferred.
Industrial or high-tech project experience preferred.
OSHA 30 certification required (may be obtained after hire).
High school diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
