Our new 10-week global internship program is part of Korn Ferry Launch, which is an early-career development program created to give interns and recent graduates a head start in their professional life. The Korn Ferry Global Internship Program is open to rising juniors and seniors from any academic major, as well as candidates earning post graduate degrees. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Korn Ferry Institute Intellectual Property (IP) team develops, updates, and innovates work design and measurement, assessment, and development solutions at the individual, team, and organization levels. The KFI IP team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern with a technical background and strong programming skills to join our team. In this role, you will work with our team's data scientists and software developers to support ongoing software development and updates to our scoring systems for measuring the competencies and behaviors required for effective performance in professional and leadership roles. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, collaborate with experienced developers, and gain hands-on experience working with production-grade software projects. Responsibilities: Collaborate with data science and scoring engineers to support the development, QA, and maintenance of select scoring services, with a primary focus on multi-rater survey tools. Document scoring algorithms and data flows. Share results and approaches with data scientists and other internal stakeholders. Review and improve the scalability of shared codebases and packages used across multiple scoring services. Leverage comprehensive documentation and end-to-end testing to ensure the accuracy and reliability of scoring service results. Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Quantitative Psychology, Software Engineering, or a related programming-intensive field. Proficiency with at least two programming languages (e.g. Python, Java), along with general programming principles, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming. While our primary codebase is in R, we value a candidate's ability to think logically, write clean code, and adapt to new languages over specific syntax knowledge. Familiarity with version control: Basic experience with Git and GitHub (e.g., committing, merging, branching) to ensure seamless collaboration within our development workflow. Familiarity with the basics of software testing (e.g., unit, system, regression testing), and some experience writing software tests. Professional Growth Mindset: A genuine interest in learning the nuances of professional production software development, including continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), more advanced version control (e.g., PR process, recovering from mistakes, integration with CI/CD), issue tracking, working with containers, as well as writing clean, maintainable code and participating in peer code reviews.
