ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR TEAM:
As a member of our digital editorial team, the Associate Fashion Editor, Menswear will be responsible for ideating, writing and producing fashion, beauty and fine jewelry content to engage, educate and inspire The Knot Worldwide's consumer audience during life's major milestones. We are looking for a detail-oriented assistant fashion editor with an interest in menswear and non-binary wedding attire who is comfortable pitching, writing and producing fashion service and shoppable content, supporting major fashion initiatives, appearing on camera and attending market events, when appropriate. A background in fashion content, awareness of wedding fashion trends, extreme attention to detail, a strong work ethic, the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, a passion for learning new skills, and a positive attitude are all necessities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pitch, write and produce daily and long lead content for our platforms
- Appear on video as fashion/menswear fashion expert when needed
- Attend market events for fashion when appropriate
- Help support department initiatives like Bridal Fashion Week and Beauty Awards
- Help with fashion sample trafficking, credits and returns for magazine shoots
- Conduct photo research and produce images for publishing as needed
- Stay current on wedding, shopping and media industries
- Provide thought leadership on menswear and the non-binary fashion industry including recommendations on content series franchises, partnerships, influencers and ways our product offerings can better serve diverse consumers and experiences
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- Exceptional writing and editing skills; at least 3 years professional experience writing for an online brand or digital publication
- A passion for fashion, online shopping and familiarity with major online retailers
- Experience working in a team, as well as experience collaborating cross-functionally with other teams on projects and initiatives
- An extreme attention to detail
- Strong commitment to hitting deadlines, accuracy and professionalism
- An understanding of basic SEO best practices and keyword targeting is a plus
- Ability to multitask, stay organized and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity with a wealth of fun and new ideas
- Experience working within a CMS
- Basic knowledge of Photoshop or other photo editing platforms
- A good eye for design, style and trends
