**What will I be doing?**
As a F&B Supervisor, you would be responsible for assisting management in the direction and administration of a restaurant in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability\. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
+ Supervise, support, schedule, assign daily work, inform and train team members in all restaurant activities and operations

The Food and Beverage Operations, Assistant Supervisor (FBOAS) is responsible for providing direct program and operational support to all Food Service locations throughout the Akron Zoo along with catering and special events.

Strong systematic organization abilities to ensure all documents and files, both physical and digital are up to date & easily accessible.
This position will assist with hiring staff throughout the year. Experienced in conflict resolution and the ability to adjust communication styles to different audiences when needed to address workplace concerns, the FBOAS has the authority to coach and discipline staff when necessary.
Responsible for assigning work, he/she/they will work closely with staff to ensure the Food & Beverage Team's Leadership Goal to cultivate a collaborative environment where individuals are empowered to make informed decisions, work together strategically, lead with integrity and take accountability while achieving team-specific goals is upheld. Position Overview: Responsible to help lead, support and direct all restaurant operations. Ensure staff conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times. Monitor appearance of employees to guarantee they meet the department/property uniform and appearance guidelines. Participate with safety committee procedures. When requested, prepare for, attend and actively participate in weekly F & B management meetings. Keep a current Serve Safe certification. Assist to maintain a proactive Worker's Compensation program. This will help to insure the safety and well-being of our employees. In the event an employee is injured, verify a First Report of Injury form is completed within 24 hours of the incident. Notify the AGM, complete and submit all Worker's Compensation forms. Ensure Liquor Room and beer coolers are locked and secured. Verify the bar is properly stocked, product checked for freshness and day dot system in place and checked during each shift. Verify and maintain all equipment is in good clean working condition through daily checklists. Verify and maintain the building is in good repair and working condition through daily checklists. Properly clean all floors, carpet areas, walls, baseboards, booths, tables, blinds, lighting fixtures, artifacts, etc. by following daily, weekly and monthly checklists. Confirm restrooms are properly maintained and checked during each shift using scheduled hourly restroom checks. Ensure the proper opening and closing of the restaurant through daily checklists.
Guest Hospitality & Service: Assure steps of service are being followed by hosts, bartenders and servers. Maintain a high level of service by constant training and coaching of direct reporting staff. Ensure proper bar recipes are being followed. Help confirm proper staffing levels on each shift per Restaurant Manager and AGM. Learn POS troubleshooting. Help verify staffs' POS skill competency by actively training on all aspects of the system. Maintain proper tabletop, menu appearance and presentation standards. Respond to guest's comments or unsatisfactory reports encountered on each shift. Seek guest satisfaction solutions. Report these incidents to AGM.
Qualification Standards: The individual must possess the job knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job. The FBOAS will assist with daily setup and closing of all locations, monitoring supplies at stations; ensuring inventory is received, verified, and rotated using FIFO, verifying cash drawers, setup and breakdown of events, monitoring and educating staff on ways to reduce waste, assisting with monthly inventory, and maintaining health & safety regulations. The FBOAS may be scheduled in positions as required based on the needs of the business and will be required to learn all areas of the operation. This includes bartending, which will require successful completion of TIPS training. The FBOAS will assist with inspecting and restocking vending inventory and equipment as well as the monthly inventory counts of the operation.
During the off-season, the FBOAS will work closely with the management team to plan for the upcoming season by updating training materials, deep cleaning locations, and implementing strategies for a successful upcoming season.
The position will provide administrative support by assisting with approving payroll, tracking and documenting attendance violations, and ensuring training records are up-to-date and food safety standards upheld. Strong systematic organization abilities to ensure all documents and files, both physical and digital are up to date & easily accessible.
This position will assist with hiring staff throughout the year. Experienced in conflict resolution and the ability to adjust communication styles to different audiences when needed to address workplace concerns, the FBOAS has the authority to coach and discipline staff when necessary.
Responsible for assigning work, he/she/they will work closely with staff to ensure the Food & Beverage Team's Leadership Goal to cultivate a collaborative environment where individuals are empowered to make informed decisions, work together strategically, lead with integrity and take accountability while achieving team-specific goals is upheld. The FBOAS will ensure that the Akron Zoo's goal of providing a positive guest experience to everyone who enters the zoo is met through the quality of the food that is served as well as the excellent customer service provided by the FBOAS and our team.
Position works Sunday - Thursday and will be required to work mornings, evenings, weekend and holidays as necessary to support food service operations during special events and facility rentals. The position will fulfil the role of Guest Chief as needed as part of the Incident Command Team, requiring the completion of First-aid/CPR training.

Minimum high school diploma or GED. Advanced degree (associate or bachelor) in hospitality management or relevant field preferred.
Minimum 3 years customer service experience and 1 year leadership experience preferred.
