Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine's Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World's Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. We realize people do not fit into neat boxes. We are looking for curious and empathetic individuals who are committed to developing themselves and learning new skills, and we are ready to help you do that. We cannot complete our mission without building a diverse and inclusive team. We hire the best people based on an evaluation of their potential and support them throughout their time at Cloudflare. Come join us! Available Locations: Austin, NYC, Lisbon, or London (Hybrid) About The Role You'll be responsible for two of Cloudflare's most critical database infrastructure products: Workers KV and Hyperdrive. “KV” is a globally distributed key-value store that enables extremely high read volume workloads and low-latency (sub-10ms) retrievals at millions (and more) of RPS. Hyperdrive is our distributed connection pooler and query caching service that supports querying Postgres and MySQL databases directly from Cloudflare Workers (using any off-the-shelf database driver). It's a key part of building full-stack applications on Workers and is the foundation of our future transactional database efforts and services. This is a role with high agency and accountability: you'll be the sole PM for the products you're responsible for, and you'll work closely with your peers across the team to ensure we're shipping great developer experiences and not silos. What You'll Do Drive the strategy, roadmap & (most importantly) ship great products that help developers build reliable, high performance full-stack applications on Cloudflare. Lead projects from ideation through launch, and continuing through ongoing maintenance and support Develop and nurture relationships with engineering and coordinate closely to ensure successful delivery of product features Talk to developers (probably the most important)! You'll need to be crafty and develop a playbook to find the right users to talk to. This might include diving into our BI tools to find specific cohorts that are worth talking to, engaging on our developer discord, or heading straight to Twitter or Hacker News to engage and build relationships with the community. Partner with other departments such as Product Marketing, Marketing, Community & Developer Relations, Sales, and Customer Support to drive adoption with and gather feedback from customers and prospects Ruthlessly prioritize across a complex environment of diverse customers, stakeholders and objectives Represent the company externally as needed, including meetings with customers and prospects and analysis Delve into market research to drive new investment opportunities in the developer space Examples Of Desirable Skills, Knowledge And Experience You have outstanding communication and collaboration skills and are able to work with a diverse group, get alignment, and drive the product forward. You are execution focused and emphasize getting things done while paying attention to important details. A desire to sweat the details and ship great end-to-end developer experiences. APIs, UIs, docs: all of these are part of the product. Proven track record of shipping developer-facing products from ideation to launch. You should know what it means to be a developer and what gets in the way of building production services. A love for talking to developers at organizations both large and small on a daily basis so that you can build and ship products that solve real problems Demonstrated experience with transactional databases (building on or building them directly), and a desire to become a domain expert in the space as quickly as humanly possible. You should want to understand Postgres' connection model vs. MySQL's process model, how replication works across different RDBMS', and get excited for every new Jepsen analysis. A focus on the developer: you'll be working directly with customers, and often be a part of the customer's team in helping them get their initial implementation off the ground BS/MS in a technology field Professional product management experience (3-4 years), previous founder experience or demonstrated experience on an engineering team shipping user-facing products. Strong technical abilities. You should be intimately familiar with modern software development practices used to build and deploy applications. You are capable of wading into the details & understanding engineering decisions' impact on the product, but can also step back and take a 30k foot view. Experience using developer tools: you should have a favorite text editor, be familiar with composing CLI tools, and be the first user of the products you're shipping. Programming experience (JavaScript/TypeScript, Rust, Go, etc.) and/or experience with SQL dialects. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. For Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of $166,000 - $224,000 For New York City, Washington, Washington D.C. and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $192,000 - $213,000 Equity This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare's equity plan. About Us At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world's largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. We cannot complete our mission without building a diverse and inclusive team. We hire the best people based on an evaluation of their potential and support them throughout their time at Cloudflare. Come join us! Available Locations: Atlanta, Austin, Denver, Toronto, Washington DC, Lisbon, London About Product Management at Cloudflare As a Product Manager at Cloudflare, you will be responsible for building products and workflows that help us improve the way the Internet works. Product Managers at Cloudflare shape high-level product goals but also get our hands dirty. On an average day, you might pitch a concept to senior leadership, collaborate with other PMs, conduct user research, prototype a new feature, iterate on a spec, analyze usage data, and pair with an engineer on implementation. About the Role As a Senior Product Manager for Developer Tools, your primary goal is to help improve the efficiency and happiness of Cloudflare's internal engineering teams. You'll work closely with a strong team of Engineers to build tools and processes that make developers' lives better. You'll be responsible for the long-term strategy, roadmap, and delivery of internal developer tools and platforms. You will give our developers the firepower they need to improve the 20% of the web that runs on Cloudflare products. This includes areas such as: Developer productivity: Identifying and removing friction in the development workflow-from code commit to production deployment Developer insights and SDLC: Metrics, dashboards, and tooling that help teams understand their own velocity, quality, and bottlenecks Developer infrastructure: Build systems, CI/CD pipelines, source control workflows, and deployment automation AI-assisted development: Enabling engineers with AI tooling-code generation, automated code review, intelligent debugging, and workflow automation Cloudflare on Cloudflare: Championing the use of our own customer-facing developer platform for internal use, and improving those products through dogfooding Key Responsibilities Own the DevTools roadmap: Define priorities, make tradeoffs, and maintain a clear view of what we're building and why. Run discovery with engineering teams: Conduct regular research with internal developers to identify pain points, validate solutions, and measure adoption. Define and track success metrics: Establish measurable outcomes for developer productivity initiatives-build times, deployment frequency, developer satisfaction, etc. Write PRDs and specs: Author clear product documentation that frames the problem, success criteria, and constraints-while leaving room for engineering to determine the best approach. Partner with engineering leadership: Collaborate on quarterly planning, staffing allocation, and cross-team dependencies. Communicate across the org: Keep stakeholders informed on progress, decisions, and upcoming changes. Evangelize new tools and drive adoption. Key Competencies Problem-first thinking: You understand problems deeply before jumping to solutions. You bring the team along on the journey-sharing context, inviting input, and building shared understanding before arriving at a solution. Outcomes orientation: You define success in terms of measurable impact, not activities or deliverables. You ask “How will we know it worked?” before building. Cross-functional partnership: You collaborate effectively with engineering, design, and other product teams. You work well asynchronously and respect people's time. Data-informed decision making: You use data to inform product decisions and measure impact-but you know when data is insufficient and judgment is required. Technical credibility: You can hold your own in conversations with engineers about architecture, tradeoffs, and implementation approaches. AI fluency: You actively use AI tools in your own work and stay current on how AI is changing software development. You can separate signal from hype and focus on what actually improves developer outcomes. Clear communication: You write and speak with precision. You prefer outcomes over activities, and direct feedback over hedging. Bonus Points An engineering background or experience building software yourself. This gives you credibility with engineering teams and helps you understand their world. Experience with developer productivity tools, build systems, or CI/CD pipelines-either as a PM or as a user. Comfort with ambiguity. Internal platform work often lacks the clear market signals of customer-facing products. You'll need to define success criteria and prioritize without perfect information. Experience thoughtfully applying Generative AI to improve developer workflows-not just hype, but real impact on efficiency or quality. Familiarity with how the Internet works (layers 2-7). If not, be prepared to speak with depth about another domain of similar complexity. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. For Colorado, Illinois, Maryland and Minnesota based hires: Estimated annual salary of $170,000- $208,000. For New York City, Washington, Washington D.C. and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $192,000 - $204,000. Come join us! Available Locations: Austin, Lisbon, and London About The Role We announced Cloudflare Workers in 2017 - since then it's played a key role in Cloudflare's strategy for entering the compute market. Until the launch of Workers, as Cloudflare was ramping up its capabilities in the performance and security spaces, it became clear that developers needed more ways to control the edge than rules engines could support. Workers has grown from a simple functions-as-a-service option into a complete full-stack platform - and with this comes the need to support a broader set of Runtime APIs. This spans a wide range, from TC39 standards, to Node.js APIs, to web standards. We played a key role in forming WinterCG, and there's still much work to do to grow a shared base of APIs across runtimes - to push forward the ecosystem and ease the burden on open-source maintainers of supporting multiple runtimes. What You'll Do Drive the strategy and roadmap for JavaScript APIs in the Cloudflare Workers Runtime Lead new APIs from ideation through launch, and continuing through ongoing maintenance and support Guide teams both internal and external on developing new JavaScript APIs in Workers, including first-party Cloudflare products and external libraries seeking to increase compatibility Develop and nurture key external relationships with open-source maintainers, and ensure their needs are heard and acted on Partner with other departments such as Product Marketing, Marketing, Community & developer advocacy, Sales, and Customer Support to drive adoption with and gather feedback from customers and prospects Ruthlessly prioritize across a complex environment of diverse customers, stakeholders and objectives Represent the company externally as needed, including meetings with customers, speaking at external events, participating in WinterCG and more. Examples Of Desirable Skills, Knowledge And Experience The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial-minded and thrives in a fast-paced and goal-driven environment.
