FBi Buildings company history timeline

1895

Longest serving Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, lawyer, and criminologist, J. Edgar Hoover was born on January 1, 1895 in Washington, DC to Annie Marie Scheitlin Hoover and Dickerson Naylor Hoover.

1935

A string of high-profile gang arrests by the Bureau led to an expansion of power for the organization, and the Bureau became the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1935.

1958

Since 1958, FBi Buildings has invested in people and processes to provide customers access to a team of forward-thinking individuals that together build the best post frame buildings.

1967

On November 9, 1967, the Bureau of the Budget authorized GSA to award construction for the first phase to Norair Construction Company.

1972

The building received its official name, the J. Edgar Hoover F.B.I. Building, through Public Law, 92-520, which President Richard Nixon signed May 4, 1972, two days after Director Hoover’s death.

J. Edgar Hoover died while still in office, on May 2, 1972.

1975

By May 30, 1975, the Director, the associate director, and several divisions had moved in.

2018

In 2018, she joined the FBi team to manage social media outlets and create creative media content.
