Program Description: The Sophomore Career Exploration Internship gives undergraduate sophomores the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at a unique institution. Our Unique Work: The Group Shared Services Function of the Research and Statistics Group (RSG GSS) provides long-term value and high-quality service for internal and external customers and stakeholders by managing key processes, communicating business information, managing computing infrastructure, publishing and promoting Bank research, supporting the collection of data series, and optimizing the use of technology and business tools. Within GSS, we have three open roles: The Research Publishing team serves as the final gateway for written and visual communications for the Research and Statistics Group. The team handles the design and dissemination of economics thinking and policy work for the Bank through a variety of innovative digital experiences, in addition to the promotion of this work. As the Digital Design Support intern, you have demonstrated interest in UX/UI design, data visualization, and social media motion graphics. Additional requirements include experience with collaborative design tools, such as Figma and the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products, knowledge of UX/UI principles and best practices, and interest in the use of AI to generate creative assets and ideas. Knowledge of WordPress or other content management systems is a plus, but not essential. The Research and Statistics Product teams set Group technology strategy and ensure the delivery of critical technology solutions. As a summer product intern, you must have a demonstrated interest in product management, economics, public policy, mathematics or statistics, and a strong academic record. During your internship, you will utilize established methods and tools to perform moderately complex analyses of business issues, work alongside product team with clients and other resources to assess current capabilities, identify customer needs and assist in recommendation process improvements, and support the team by gathering, analyzing, and compiling information from end-users and stakeholders to ensure processes, software and/or applications meet business requirements. You may also participate in cross-functional team initiatives, process improvement and/or product support The Business Operation Support Department provides core administrative and operational support in the management of the Group's fundamental collaboration efforts through various Programs. The Business Operations internship offers hands-on experience in operations, data management, and project coordination. The associate will support day-to-day business functions, assist in project coordination and contribute to the efficiency of our internal operation while developing professional skills. Responsibilities may include supporting process documentation and workflow improvements, building simple reports and dashboards in Excel, providing logistical support for Research conferences and events, assisting with the management of the BOS website, processing Economists' internal and outside reimbursement requests for speaking engagements, and tracking Economists' travel spend and budgets and pulling reports. How You'll Make an Impact as a Technology Intern (Junior) Candidates will be responsible for technology work in any of the Technology Group's areas, including but not limited to information security, data management, software development, or end user services for the Bank. As the East Rutherford Evening Tour Lieutenant for our Law Enforcement Unit, you will lead our evening operations and provide leadership for your assigned tour in coordination with our Captains, and fellow EROC and New York uniformed leadership teams. This position is assigned to our New Jersey location and candidates should live within a commutable distance of both our locations in case they are needed in either location. Your role as the EROC Evening Tour Lieutenant: * Act as Commanding Officer in Captains absence, supervising Staff Sergeants, Sergeants, Corporals and Officers. * Provide leadership to uniformed law enforcement team in providing safety and security to Bank personnel, visitors and property including, and not limited to, coaching and development, performance and/or disciplinary feedback, creating and maintaining staffing schedules, time-card review and approval, and enforcing LEU policies, procedures and protocol. * Ensure that all LEU uniformed staff attends required training and develop team for future supervisory roles; create evaluations and conduct performance reviews. * Manage and direct team in response to emergencies, breaches, outside disturbances, and visitor screening. * Provide inspirational and inclusive leadership to the team and set example for a high level of professionalism, diplomacy, community policing, and client service. * Build productive relationship and serve as an ambassador of LEU internally and externally - act as a liaison with other areas of the Bank by establishing and maintaining effective relationships, promoting cooperation and providing strong customer service. * Proactively maintain communication with other Tour Commanders to manage overtime and reallocate staff where overtime may continue unnecessarily. * Conduct roll calls and provide team with clear and thorough summaries of current and emerging issues Remain informed on state-of-the-art policing and continually assess LEU programs/protocols to recommend changes as needed * Carry firearms and make arrests for offenses against the United States and access law enforcement information pursuant to section 11(q) of the Federal Reserve Act (12 U.S.C. 248(q)). * Complete all required FRBNY and Federal Reserve System certifications and training annually. * Answer inquiries of the public and employees, monitor employee and visitor IDs, inspect packages and bags, and direct persons to their destinations as needed.
