This position will serve as a key lobbyist for the NAM with the U.S. Congress, advocating for issues of paramount importance to the manufacturing industry. Collaborate with the Managing Vice President of Government Relations and NAM's policy team on legislative activities and priorities related to the NAM and its members. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion for the manufacturing sector, established relationships on Capitol Hill, and experience working with staff, caucuses, regulators, and lawmakers. The Director will be required to register as a federal lobbyist.

Salary Range: $104,000 - $140,000 annually. This salary range represents a good faith estimate of the lowest to the highest salary for this position. The final salary offered will be based on qualifications and experience.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct continuous process improvement using a framework that identifies a baseline of performance, moves to a period of assessment and adjustment of performance, to be followed by a period of sustained continuous process improvement. The framework shall be complementary to the Baldrige criteria to support the SPD organization in achieving organizational readiness to submit its application for examination and favorable feedback. The result should be an integration of processes that produce efficient, repeatable and measurable high performing products and services.
Work with the baseline of standard operating procedures, workflows, and service level of agreements to improve efficiencies in operations, workforce capabilities, and support technologies.
Assist with preparing for examinations and for sharing how their operations and strategies align and are measured to support workflow and or function creation, elimination, reduction, or enhancement.
Facilitate several sessions with the workforce subject matter experts to gain input and ideas for proposing improvements to the leadership. The sessions shall be planned, coordinated with SPD leadership, and have agendas stating the specific outcome. During the sessions, the employee shall use interventions that stimulate thought and input and lead to the stated outcomes.
Create minutes for all meetings, and those meetings shall be shared for verification and validation with the attendees. Once updated from attendee input, the minutes shall contribute to the creation, update, or elimination of final documents, not limited to standard procedures, policy, workflows, or process strategy.
Prepare business requirements as the organization seeks technology solutions to improve functional operations.
Coordinate information and data collection through joint sessions with all users and viewers of the new technology, which may include scheduling and collaborating system testing through requirements traceability, user acceptance testing, and metrics reports testing. Some IT outcomes can be, but not limited to, structured process for identifying the data elements and the key relationships when designing new databases, re-designing databases or data flows, and or developing clear understanding information or data.
Evaluate workplace readiness for transitioning a new database into the environment.
Determine whether the environment has the effective processes, understanding of impact to culture, overall operational structures, information technology capability, supporting policy, and required security to implement.
Provide report documents that describe the requirements collected, traceability results to product selection, and user acceptance results.
Identifying project requirements, providing governance, and overseeing improvement opportunities
within SPD, as well as: Develop a process for soliciting and selecting improvement ideas; Ensure continuous improvement activities are linked to the Enterprise and Performance Metric improvements; Scope, prioritize, and evaluate improvement ideas; Improve work flow processes; Identify risks and risk mitigations; Capture and record the value of implemented improvements.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

Grade level eligibility and salaries vary depending upon background, including experience and education, and duty location of the opportunity. Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-9 grade level in one of the following ways: experience, education, or a combination of both.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes:
Detaining suspected violators of federal, state, or local laws and/or arresting violators using the proper law enforcement methods.
Enforcing the laws and regulations relating to importing, exporting, and/or international shipping to and from the United States.
Utilizing intelligence techniques and behavior analysis to identify potential threats and perform risk assessments for violations of laws and threats to national security.
Conducting interviews in a law enforcement capacity for the purposes of gaining information from suspected violators of laws to determine the appropriate course of action.
The above experience will be applied in connection with the following: Ability to make rapid, accurate judgments and decisions with respect to the application of the regulations, instructions, and procedures for importing and exporting merchandise to and from the United States; or enforcement and administration of laws relating to the right of persons to enter, reside in or depart from the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Education Substitution: A master's (or higher) degree, or two or more years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or an LL.B. or J.D. from an accredited college or university; OR
Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of specialized experience AND successfully completed graduate-level education. This will be calculated using your resume and official or unofficial transcripts submitted with your application.
Other Requirements:

Formal Training: You will be required to complete a paid pre-academy orientation for approximately two (2) weeks at your home port. You will then attend a 101-day training program - CBP Field Operations Academy - conducted at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, GA. This training consists of basic law enforcement skills, immigration laws, firearms training, examination of cargo/bags/merchandise, physical fitness, etc. Candidates assigned to the southern border, Miami, or Puerto Rico duty locations must attend and pass an online Spanish training program, which will be completed at their home port. Successful completion of the Academy is required for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities
Performs laboratory analyses of physical evidence in one or more of the specialty disciples of the FSL, regularly demonstrates proficiency in assigned forensic specialty; participates in and completes externally administrated proficiency tests; demonstrates competency and on-going proficiency in laboratory processing, interpretation, comparisons, statistical analysis and technical review as authorized by the technical leader; ensures methodologies and procedures used are compliant with established standards, and is responsible for quality assurance and accreditation compliance activities. Evaluates existing DNA methods and proposes new analytical procedures for improved operations; and ensures that all associated quality standards pertaining to ISO 17025 and FBI QAS based accreditation status are being performed and met.
Prepares written scientific examination reports and affidavits to correlate with laboratory results; inspects equipment and tools that are utilized for testing and to determine if they are compliant with prescribed operating and safety standards, regulations and guidelines including manufacturer's specifications on computerized scientific equipment; interprets graphs, charts, and mathematical formulas. Completes an advance research project and/or performs a vital role in the overall operation of the unit by independently performing a high level task such as training and/or overseeing training of scientists, developing and validating new processes and procedures, or resolving common technical concerns relative to forensic biology operations; perform biology/DNA analyses on physical evidence; interprets test results, conducts comparisons, develops conclusions and statistical analyses and prepares final reports/results; completes technical review of peers work. The Provider Relations Liaison (PRL) is the incumbent responsible for being a liaison between IHSC, offsite providers and the Veterans Affairs Financial Services Center (VAFSC). General Medical Requirements: As determined by OPM the duties of this position require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Arms, hands, legs and feet must function sufficiently in order for applicants to perform the duties satisfactorily.

* Recruitment Incentive: Applicants may be eligible for a $40,000 recruitment incentive in accordance with regulatory requirements. The first installment of $15,000 will be paid following successful completion of Secret Service Criminal Investigator training. A second installment of $10,000 will be paid following one year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. The final installment of $15,000 will be paid after a third year of service post training and an acceptable performance rating. Provision of these payments require the execution of a three-year Continued Service Agreement (CSA) with the agency. Newly hired employees who resign from the USSS prior to the expiration of the CSA will be required to repay the recruitment incentive. (NOTE: Eligibility is limited to "Newly appointed" Federal employees as defined by 5 CFR 575.102).
Applicants selected for this position will be required to sign a CSA before being assigned to an initial training class. The CSA will commit the applicant to a specified period of employment with the Secret Service upon the successful completion of training.

Regularly propose ideas for policy and research-related written products.
Draft and contribute to writing projects and products related to Issue One's core issue areas, including policy memos, reports, fact sheets, briefers, talking points, articles, and other materials for policymakers, partners, media, and the public.
Regularly review news articles, academic reports, government filings, and other materials, and synthesize complex information into clear, accessible, actionable formats for internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the fact-checking of Issue One materials.
Collaborate with the Communications team to create effective messages, including for social media content.
Data Management and Analysis (15%)
Create, maintain, and clean datasets and databases in support of research and policy objectives.
Conduct qualitative and basic quantitative research to inform Issue One's policy, advocacy, and public education efforts.
Help maintain Issue One's internal knowledge base, trackers, and shared research resources.
Project & Cross-Team Support (25%)
Support planning and execution of in-person and online policy events, roundtables, and briefings.
Contribute to the development of Issue One's strategic priorities, long-term goals, and annual policy objectives.
Support the onboarding and occasional project-specific supervision of interns.
Provide administrative and project management support as needed, including occasional logistics and scheduling.
Attend events on behalf of Issue One, including taking notes and reporting back to other Issue One staff on key takeaways.

Job-Related Experience
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in policy research, advocacy, legislative tracking, political science, government, journalism, or a related field.
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Experience drafting policy and/or research products.
Experience working with coalitions, policymakers, or advocacy networks is a plus.
Experience applying and interpreting research techniques and methods (survey methods, quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods research) is a plus.

This is a full-time, salaried, and fully benefited position requiring 40 hours per week.
This position is based in the Washington, D.C. area and requires in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Decision Making
The Associate independently decides:
How to organize and prioritize daily tasks.
Routine correspondence and communication with internal and some external stakeholders.
Standard logistical coordination for meetings and events.
The Policy Director provides approval for:
Strategic and tactical changes to policy and research priorities and projects.
Formal communications to key stakeholders.
Budgetary or contractual commitments.
Other Policy Team staff will supervise project-specific tasks carried out by the Associate.
This role carries no direct financial authority.

About the Role
The Senior E-Billing Coordinator is an integral part of Latham's Global Finance team and will be responsible for the submission of electronic invoices to clients on a monthly basis, overseeing the transition of clients to e-billing, and providing follow-up support to attorneys, practice office staff, and clients in all aspects related to electronic billing, as well as handling a heavy volume of highly complex e-submission assignments for key corporate clients and ensuring that all client guidelines, internal protocols, and firm guidelines are followed during the submission process. Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
Acting as a liaison between billing attorney/secretarial staff, practice office billing staff, and clients' staff assigned to electronic billing by providing expert-level subject matter support
Liaising with billing attorney/secretary, practice office accounting staff, and client representatives in the resubmission of invoices and ensuring corrective action is in place for future submissions
Populating, maintaining, and updating data for assigned clients in the 3E system and clients' external web applications, while also ensuring all relevant information is updated and correlated in the firm's 3E system
Performing necessary technical and logistical tasks with internal staff, vendor staff, and clients' designated personnel in the transition of clients to electronic billing
Working collaboratively with the department's supervisor to support e-billing systems by adding/removing user accounts, resetting passwords, assigning proper security levels, entering budgets, status reports, and matter profiles in various sub-systems
