Federal Way Public Schools company history timeline

1929

The name Federal Way was first used in 1929 when five existing schools consolidated operations into School District #210 and planned construction of Federal Way High School next to Highway 99.

1990

Desiring controlled, quality growth and community identity, Federal Way citizens organized to form what was then Washington's sixth largest city, incorporating in February of 1990.

2017

In 2017, the community supported the passage of an unprecedented bond package of almost half a billion dollars — the largest bond measure in FWPS history and one of the largest in the region.

2020

graduation rates that have increased year over year for the last eight years currently at 88.2% for the class of 2020, regional recognition for college going rates and attainment, and some of the highest numbers of scholars enrolled in advanced placement courses.
