As the Power Equipment / Small Engine Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing riding and walk behind mowers, snow blowers, utility vehicles and other power equipment. This position will diagnose, repair and replace power equipment parts and provide standard service, maintenance, and service writer support by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned Locate causes of trouble, dismantle engines, and examine parts for defects. Provides repair and time estimates. Replaces or repairs parts such as rings and bearings. Cleans/adjusts/replaces carburetor and fuel systems. Starts repaired engines and listens to sounds to test performance. Replaces engines on machines. Repairs/replaces mower decks, blades, and performs routine service. Repairs and replaces drive systems. Support / perform service writer duties. Assist with Counter Sales and Warehouse duties. Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion. Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments. Complete all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments. Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties. Qualifications Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. At least two years of full-time mechanical, electrical and combustion engine repair experience repairing large and small lawn equipment, utility vehicles, mowers, tillers, generators, and other related equipment. Experience with MTD small engines preferred but not required. Experience with Utility Vehicle repair and service is desired. Ability to use a computer for parts inquiries, ordering, and processing warranty claims. Working mechanical knowledge, including the use of tools and test equipment. Ability to perform accurate repair of customer product. Ability to follow directions and specific process steps to ensure quality workmanship. Availability to work Monday - Saturday from 8am - 6pm & Sunday 10am - 2pm (on a weekend rotation). Must complete all technician training elements within required time frames. Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. Must be at least 18 years of age. Job Description This is a full-time, 4-6 month internship/co-op, with an anticipated start date in May 2026 Nature of work: Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to); * This is a great opportunity to get hands on experience in a manufacturing environment and learn about the inner workings of how standard costs are developed and maintained. * The primary focus will be reviewing current standard costs with a focus on the following: * Identify outliers in relation to margin or potential data integrity issues * Work closely with manufacturing engineers to ensure BOM & Routing are aligned with current production procedures * Assist with developing a go forward plan to ensure BOM & Routing are maintained on a go forward basis Why is this important: Standard Cost is the foundation for ensuring a plant is running efficiently and that we are going to market with the most accurate costs to produce finished products. This helps to ensure that we aren't pricing ourselves out of the market, and ensures that we aren't selling finished products below cost. Success in achieving the above mentioned items will result in the potential for top line growth and margin improvements, which are key areas of focus for 2026.
