Post job

FedEx offers a comprehensive benefits program to all full-time employees, which includes excellent health insurance coverage, financial benefits, retirement planning, paid time off, and numerous discounts.

FedEx has a group insurance or benefits program for which the company pays the entire premium amount. Employees become eligible to claim extended dental and health coverage after they’ve worked there for 90 days. The dental plan covers preventative care and specialist dental work for employees and their dependents, while the vision plan pays for vision-related medical equipment and vision exams.

FedEx offers a variety of financial employee benefits. This is to set its workers up with the income they need for retirement and help them to support their families comfortably. FedEx also offers financial perks to extend into family life. When an employee adopts a child, for example, FedEx covers the costs of the court and adoption for single parents and families.

Retirement benefits include a 401(k) plan that enables employees to save up to four percent of their salary, with FedEx matching 50% of their contribution. In addition to this, employees get a low-cost life insurance plan.

The accumulation of vacation time and salary begins on the day FedEx welcomes a new employee. Employees can claim this reward after six months of continuous service. Every permanent employee of the organization is entitled to eleven days of paid vacation per year.

FedEx employees receive discounts on numerous travel and vacation products, like aircraft tickets, hotel stays, and travel insurance. They also receive special discounts on movies, malls, sports zones, golf clubs, amusement parks, publications, newspapers, and more. They also cover the cost of transportation to and from work.

FedEx Health Insurance Benefits

Like other employers, FedEx offers health insurance to full-time employees. However, these benefits only extend to part-time workers who’ve worked at least 1000 hours.

Full-time employees receive full health benefits that also cover dental and vision from Cigna Health Insurance. Typically, these benefits start 90 days after being hired, which inevitably prevents seasonal staff from applying.

FedEx Retirement Plans

In 2020, FedEx previously used a pension plan closed to new hires, but this was replaced with a new 401k benefits plan.

As of 2021, the 401k retirement plan is in effect. This means that if you choose to contribute 6% of your earnings as an optional contribution, FedEx will contribute an additional 8% to match. However, the downside is that employees have lost their guaranteed 5% contribution that they would receive without donating their own money.

FedEx Employee Discounts

Given that FedEx is a delivery service, the company offers several useful discounts to employees. These include:

  • 10% on select FedEx Home Delivery services

  • 20% on select FedEx Ground services

  • 25% on select FedEx Express international shipping services

  • 29% on select FedEx Express U.S. services

  • 78% on select FedEx Freight services

FedEx Paid Time Off (PTO)

PTO is an important part of being able to take sick days and going on vacations.

Luckily, FedEx does have a PTO policy. As an employee, you can expect to receive 1 hour of PTO for every 20 hours worked. However, you’ll only be permitted to use PTO after 90 days of continuous service.

FedEx Parental Leave

FedEx offers wedding leave, maternity leave, and paternity leave. Expecting mothers and fathers will receive 50 weeks of paid maternity leave, 50 weeks of unpaid maternity leave, and two weeks of paid paternity leave. Mothers can choose to decline the unpaid leave if they wish.

FedEx Education

FedEx does offer college tuition aid, but these benefits are minor. For example, part-time FedEx employees can earn up to $1,500-$2,500 per calendar year, depending on their position and hours worked. This money can go toward tuition reimbursement.

However, FedEx will not provide this benefit if you’ve accepted any other form of financial aid, making it tenuous at best.

Though, on the GED side, FedEx does allow employees to earn full reimbursement for specific courses.

FedEx Bonuses

According to current and former employees, FedEx bonuses do not go to hourly employees and are only given to managers. The annual incentive program for managers centers around base salary and can range anywhere between. 3-15%.
