A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Xiaojun Yu in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will plan and conduct assigned and original research projects independently, while collaborating with faculty, staff, postdoctoral fellows, and students.
This position centers on the development of scaffolds for nerve regeneration, an emerging area of biomedical engineering research. The work will involve designing and fabricating composite scaffolds using electrospinning and 3D printing for application in animal models of nerve injury. The research will also encompass scaffold characterization, in vitro cell culture studies, and in vivo analyses to evaluate biomaterial-nerve tissue interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and optimize fabrication techniques for composite scaffolds using electrospinning and 3D printing.
Perform physical, chemical, and biological characterization of scaffolds.
Establish in vitro cell culture models to assess cellular responses to biomaterials.
Learn and perform surgical, histological, and imaging procedures for evaluating scaffold-nerve tissue interactions in animal models.

Role Description: The College Readiness Scholars Institute (CRSI) is seeking current undergraduate students who want to provide high school students, especially those from first-generation and/or income limited backgrounds, with an immersive pre-collegiate experience that will transform the way in which they understand a collegiate environment. We seek students who can serve as exemplary role models and have demonstrated the ability to successfully navigate their college experience to date. Our team is looking for undergraduate students who value serving students, diversity, teamwork, respect, and harmony, and are looking for summer positions that will provide purpose and impact.
Primary Responsibilities:
Peer Staff Positions:
Academics: Responsible for escorting students to breakfast, their academic sessions, and to lunch; monitoring assigned classes and assisting the classroom instructor. Provides individualized and group academic support, completes related reports, attends staff meetings as scheduled. Monitors structured study in the residence hall.
Interpersonal: Responsible for escorting students from lunch to their career & interpersonal sessions, to fitness hour to dinner. Responsible for assisting the professional staff member in a variety of related interpersonal skill workshops and ongoing seminars. Staff will be expected to address large and small groups of students, disseminate information, and interact with administrators across the campus.

All staff are required to attend staff meetings. Staff meeting schedules will be determined during staff training during training week of June 15-18, 2026.
Edge Mentor staff are required to live in the residence hall for the duration of training and the program.
To be available to work throughout the duration of the program. Staff are also required to work during weekends. Peer staff cannot hold any outside commitments or employment for the duration of the program, such as seasonal jobs, nor should peer staff be enrolled in any summer coursework that does not meet a requirement for graduation.

You Will
Collaborate within the architecture team and broader cross-functional teams across the E/E stack to define and evolve vehicle control system architecture aligned with product roadmaps and platform strategies.
Lead system-level control architecture across multiple vehicle domains: powertrain, vehicle dynamics, thermal systems, energy management, and ADAS.
Define control system interfaces, control loops, and functional partitioning across real-time embedded ECUs and distributed vehicle networks (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
Guide the selection and use of real-time embedded platforms. Lead architecture and design of centralized ECU systems responsible for interfacing with critical peripherals such as braking and steering systems.
Design and optimize power management and power state strategies for different battery technologies, including low-voltage lead-acid and Li-ion chemistries for 12V and 48V systems.
Incorporate ECU hardware and software design considerations to support these varying power states efficiently and reliably.
Drive model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow, including support for automatic code generation and integration processes.
Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and support the development of safety architectures, hazard analyses, and safety cases in collaboration with Functional Safety teams.
Support system-level integration and in-vehicle validation in collaboration with testing and calibration teams.
Participate in producing architectural specifications, initiate architectural reviews, and contribute to interface definitions, overall documentation, and system traceability.

You Bring
Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive control systems, including architecture definition and cross-domain integration.

Summer Policy Internship
The ACLU-NJ seeks a highly motivated college or graduate student for our inaugural Policy Internship. The Policy Intern is a temporary role which requires a 10-week commitment from June through August 2025 at an expected 35 hours per week. The office is on a hybrid work schedule- in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and remotely on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
The Policy Intern will work closely with the Policy and Legal departments to conduct research, interview New Jersey and National policy leaders, analyze pending state and local legislative or regulatory proposals that impact civil rights and liberties in New Jersey, and develop policy recommendations for key campaigns related to reproductive freedom, economic justice, and immigrants' rights. Students will also have opportunities to participate in advocacy meetings and events involving clients, community partners and/or government officials.
Funding of up to $6,400 for undergraduate and $7,500 for graduate students is available for the period of the internship. Students who receive outside funding are eligible for a partial stipend to bring their total funding up to the level of the ACLU-NJ's funding amount for that term, if applicable.

The RWDR fellowship program within Business Insights & Technology (BIT) is designed for early-career researchers passionate about the real-world evidence generation through the application of epidemiology, biostatistics, and artificial intelligence (AI).
