The Fellow will primarily work with Policy team members to support the immigration, policing, and/or criminal legal system reform policy dockets, though may also be staffed on work involving privacy and surveillance, protest, First Amendment rights, and defensive work. The NYCLU's Policy Department implements and monitors legislative and policy initiatives across the state that implicate constitutional rights and liberties. The Policy Department drafts and supports affirmative legislation that advances constitutional freedoms, and opposes laws, rules, and policies that would compromise those freedoms. The work of the Policy Department includes (a) representing the NYCLU at the state legislative session in Albany, (b) monitoring and advocating before the New York City Council, (c) engaging in advocacy with other municipal bodies, in close collaboration with the NYCLU's regional offices, and (d) engaging in rulemaking and implementation efforts. The Chinuch track is for those thinking about entering into the world of Chinuch. Ten members of our current faculty began their teaching career as Beit Midrash Fellows. The fellowship follows the SAR High School calendar year. The hours are from 8:00 AM (Tefillah) until 4:50 PM, Monday-Thursday and until 1:10 PM on Fridays. One evening a week Fellows learn for forty minutes after school with students. Fellows in graduate school will have some flexibility scheduling classes on one afternoon a week. The Fellows program has a stipend of $30,000. The day is split between time spent learning/teaching with students under the guidance of classroom teachers and time devoted to furthering the fellows' own individual learning and group learning directed by Rabbi Dovi Nadel and Rabbi Shmuel Hain. Led by members of MoMA's curatorial team and constituted of MoMA staff members from across curatorial affairs departments, the C-MAP Southeast & East Asia group is constituted of MoMA staff members from across curatorial and curatorial affairs departments, the C-MAP Southeast & East Asia group will continue its current focus on Southeast & East Asia and its diasporas, including (but not limited to), Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Following the direction of the group leader, and in consultation with the International Program Department, the Fellow will plan, coordinate, and document a program of monthly group meetings at MoMA (in-person or virtual as needed) featuring scholars, artists and curators, as well as travel for C-MAP group members to the region of focus. The Fellow also collaborates actively with other C-MAP Fellows and International Program staff on organizing cross-group seminars as well as editing and maintaining the C-MAP website, post (post.moma.org). In consultation with their supervisors, the Fellow will also have an opportunity to develop and undertake research related to the region of focus. The Museum of Modern Art is committed to nurturing the next generation of scholars, art historians, and other arts professionals. This fellowship is part of a distinctive museum wide fellowship program that offers opportunities for training and development through immersion in the Museum's departments, working alongside and mentored by experienced staff members. All fellows also participate in a core methods and practice program with MoMA staff and invited guests which explores object-based research and inquiry; public engagement in a museum context; and arts leadership and the role of cultural institutions. With C-MAP Program Coordinator and International Program Department Coordinator and Assistant Director, helps prepare reports on C-MAP group activities for funders. Researches and keeps C-MAP group members informed about relevant exhibitions and events related to the group's area of focus. Supports other Museum research activities related to C-MAP group focus, as needed. Performs any other duties reasonably related to the functions described above. Requirements: Specialized knowledge of modern and contemporary art in Southeast and East Asia. Master's degree in art history, cultural studies, and/or a related field in the humanities (or the equivalent in countries outside the United States) required. Candidate must be a fully-enrolled student pursuing a Ph.D. program. Candidate must be ABD. Independent researchers and curators with a strong expertise and proven experience in the area of focus could also be considered. Strong knowledge of 20th- and 21st-century art history within a global context and specific knowledge of transnational art history and contemporary practices in Southeast and East Asia. Deep familiarity with key artistic centers and networks in Southeast and East Asia. Written and spoken fluency in English. POSITION DESCRIPTION Lorie. A. Slutsky Philanthropy Fellow This Fellowship is named for the third President of The Trust and endowed through contributions from Trust donors, board, staff, and other foundations. This Fellow will be housed in the General Counsel's office but will work with other Trust departments. The Fellow will focus on significant issues affecting community foundations and the philanthropic sector (e.g., proposed changes in donor-advised fund rules, trends in philanthropy, assisting with collaborative funds, etc.). The Fellow will support Trust staff in specific administrative, programmatic, donor, and legal projects and work closely with other Fellows. Requirements FELLOWSHIP ELIGIBILITY AND DETAILS Applicants must be a student in a full-time graduate program. Typically, applicants are candidates for the following degrees: MA, MS, MPH, MPA, MPP, MSW, MEd, JD. Applicants must have existing authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. This is a temporary and time-limited Fellowship. Fellows start on June 1, 2026. The Fellowship ends in May 2027. Fellows must commit to the entire period. Fellows must remain enrolled as full-time graduate students for the entire duration of the Fellowship. Fellows' field of graduate study must match an aspect of the Fellowship. Fellowships are intended as learning experiences to complement Fellows' graduate study. This is not an entry-level position at The Trust or intended to lead to one. RESPONSIBILITIES The Lorie. A. Slutsky Philanthropy Fellow should have excellent research, writing, and proofreading skills; a commitment to detail and accuracy; strong organizational skills; and an ability to work both independently and as a team member. Because much of the analysis done by this Fellow will relate to philanthropic rules, regulations, and legislation, there is a preference for law school students with legal research and writing experience. This Fellow will work under the supervision of the General Counsel's office. COMPENSATION Fellowships pay is $25 an hour. The position is on-site at our New York office, and we provide several remote options (holiday remote week, August remote month, monthly remote days, etc.). Fellows are eligible for paid federal holidays and state-mandated safe/sick leave. Fellows also receive pay for the one week when The Trust is closed (August 31 to September 4 2026). The Fellowships start on Monday, June 1, 2026. Fellows work up to 35 hours a week from June 2026 to August 2026 and, to accommodate class schedules, 15 to 20 hours a week between September 2026 to May 2027. Fellows must commit to the entire year. Following the direction of the group leader, and in consultation with the International Program Department, the Fellow will plan, coordinate, and document a program of monthly group meetings at MoMA (in-person or virtual as needed) featuring scholars, artists and curators, as well as travel for C-MAP group members to the region of focus. The Fellow also collaborates actively with other C-MAP Fellows and International Program staff on organizing cross-group programming as well as editing and maintaining the C-MAP website, post (post.moma.org). In consultation with their supervisors, the Fellow will also have an opportunity to develop and undertake research related to the region of focus. The Museum of Modern Art is committed to nurturing the next generation of scholars, art historians, and other arts professionals.
