SAR High School is a mission-driven, co-educational, Modern Orthodox Jewish high school committed to student-centered learning in a challenging and supportive environment. The SAR High School Beit Midrash is a vibrant center for student and adult learning, a highly accessible resource center and, at the same time, a friendly gathering place. Our six full-time Beit Midrash Fellows learn each day in the Beit Midrash which is, physically and philosophically, the center of SAR High School. Judaic studies classes utilize the Beit Midrash and the Fellows for small group learning. Each fellow is also closely mentored by Judaic Studies faculty members. The Fellows also help design and implement co-curricular activities which promote ruach, chesed, Medinat Yisrael, and SAR's annual theme. There are two tracks to the fellows program, a professional track and a chinuch track. The professional track is for those looking to meaningfully spend a year in the world of Chinuch before the next steps in their professional career. The Chinuch track is for those thinking about entering into the world of Chinuch. Ten members of our current faculty began their teaching career as Beit Midrash Fellows. The fellowship follows the SAR High School calendar year. The hours are from 8:00 AM (Tefillah) until 4:50 PM, Monday-Thursday and until 1:10 PM on Fridays. One evening a week Fellows learn for forty minutes after school with students. Fellows in graduate school will have some flexibility scheduling classes on one afternoon a week. Supports envisioning and development of research initiatives on Southeast & East Asian art and architecture for The Museum of Modern Art's Contemporary and Modern Art Perspectives (C-MAP) program. Led by members of MoMA's curatorial team and constituted of MoMA staff members from across curatorial affairs departments, the C-MAP Southeast & East Asia group is constituted of MoMA staff members from across curatorial and curatorial affairs departments, the C-MAP Southeast & East Asia group will continue its current focus on Southeast & East Asia and its diasporas, including (but not limited to), Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Following the direction of the group leader, and in consultation with the International Program Department, the Fellow will plan, coordinate, and document a program of monthly group meetings at MoMA (in-person or virtual as needed) featuring scholars, artists and curators, as well as travel for C-MAP group members to the region of focus. The Fellow also collaborates actively with other C-MAP Fellows and International Program staff on organizing cross-group seminars as well as editing and maintaining the C-MAP website, post (post.moma.org). In consultation with their supervisors, the Fellow will also have an opportunity to develop and undertake research related to the region of focus. Slutsky Philanthropy Fellow should have excellent research, writing, and proofreading skills; a commitment to detail and accuracy; strong organizational skills; and an ability to work both independently and as a team member. Because much of the analysis done by this Fellow will relate to philanthropic rules, regulations, and legislation, there is a preference for law school students with legal research and writing experience. This Fellow will work under the supervision of the General Counsel's office. COMPENSATION Fellowships pay is $25 an hour. The position is on-site at our New York office, and we provide several remote options (holiday remote week, August remote month, monthly remote days, etc.). Supports envisioning and development of research initiatives on art and architecture in Africa for The Museum of Modern Art's Contemporary and Modern Art Perspectives (C-MAP) program. Led by a member of MoMA's curatorial team and constituted of MoMA staff members from across curatorial and curatorial affairs departments, the C-MAP Africa group will study artistic practices and institutional formations across the African continent from the mid to late 20th century to the present. Following the direction of the group leader, and in consultation with the International Program Department, the Fellow will plan, coordinate, and document a program of monthly group meetings at MoMA (in-person or virtual as needed) featuring scholars, artists and curators, as well as travel for C-MAP group members to the region of focus. The Fellow also collaborates actively with other C-MAP Fellows and International Program staff on organizing cross-group programming as well as editing and maintaining the C-MAP website, post (post.moma.org). In consultation with their supervisors, the Fellow will also have an opportunity to develop and undertake research related to the region of focus. This one-year appointment, eligible for a one-year renewal, starts in June 2026. The Fellow will participate at the Curatorial Assistant level under the supervision of the Richard L. Menschel Curator and Department Head of Photography and the Jane P. Watkins Assistant Curator of Photography. The Fellow will research works in the permanent collection and potential acquisitions, contribute to the planning and execution of exhibitions and museum publications, accession new collection objects and assist with general collection management, and pursue special projects.
