The successful applicants will work in the groups of Dr. Andrew Newman and Dr. Gwen Rudie. The post-doc working primarily with Dr. Rudie will focus on studies of the circumgalactic medium of high-redshift galaxies. The post-doc working primarily with Dr. Newman will focus on applications of IGM tomography maps, such as the connections between high-redshift galaxies and their large-scale environments. Position Key Accountabilities: * Plans and conducts experiments, analyzes data, and prepares publications describing results. * Assists in training and mentoring of lab personnel, including graduate students and other trainees. * Reads and evaluates literature. * Possess interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate and communicate with individuals at all levels. * Have strong written and oral communication skills. * Design and conduct sampling campaigns in occupational settings, particularly fire service environments. * Operate and maintain monitoring equipment. * Conduct data collection, management, analysis, and reporting related to field sampling activities. * Analyze exposure data and contribute to manuscript preparation. * Assist in mentoring graduate students and research staff. Preferred skills: * Strong foundation in statistical analytical skills, exposure assessment, and occupational health. * Experience in field and lab work involving environmental or occupational exposures. Minimum Education: * Doctoral/Terminal Degree Physical Requirements: Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\: Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, Conduct clinical and translational research training in the field of dermatology. Participate in intra and interdepartmental conferences. Interact with multiple attendings with similar research interests, aid in preparation of abstracts and manuscripts which may lead to opportunities to present or publish scholarly work. Work with the Principal Investigator to formulate research plans, coordinating project activities, and establishing appropriate reporting procedures. Make modifications to research procedures in collaboration with the Principal Investigator. Confer with the Principal Investigator regarding results obtained and receive suggestions for modification to procedures and/or interpretation of final data. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should be a graduate of an approved medical school, completed one-year of residency training, and hold a permanent Texas Medical License.
