About the role: As a Machine Learning Fellow, you will apply machine learning techniques to high-impact research problems. Strong Python background with practical experience using multiple ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.) to prototype, train, and evaluate models in real-world applications. Practical experience in generative model adaptation through fine-tuning, prompt-engineering, and in-context learning on low-resource or specialized datasets Clear communicator of technical concepts for non-technical audiences. Strong understanding of modeling concepts including bias-variance tradeoffs, regularization, generalization, data imbalance, and model calibration to design models in challenging problem spaces. Nice to have: Computer vision skills (OCR, image classification, deep fake detection). Experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or GCP for end-to-end ML workflows, including model training, deployment, and monitoring using tools like Vertex AI, SageMaker, and cloud-native ML libraries. Familiarity with multimodal learning (text-image or text-audio) or cross-domain model evaluation. Exposure to MLOps tools and practices (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD for ML, MLflow, etc.). Experience managing full lifecycle machine learning projects from design to deployment. Understanding of modern retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agent frameworks, and context-aware orchestration (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI Agents, or AutoGen) for building intelligent applications. ProPublica's Local Reporting Network helps produce vital, investigative journalism in communities where such stories would otherwise not be done. Now entering its ninth year, the program will be taking on 15 new partnerships over the course of 2026. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Global Assurance (Internal Audit) Fellow to join IJM in April 2026 for a 6-month fellowship. The Global Assurance team performs internal audits to deliver key financial insights to stakeholders. The Global Assurance (Internal Audit) Fellow will support the strategic planning of the Global Assurance function, partnering with the Global Director to provide key insights to internal audit objectives, frameworks, tools, techniques, and data analytics. Together with our charitable partner, the American Cancer Society, we work in Congress, state legislatures and local jurisdictions to support evidence-based policy and legislative solutions designed to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. The ACS CAN Policy team is hiring an intern for the winter semester. The Public Policy Internship is an exciting opportunity to work with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network - the advocacy affiliate of the American Cancer Society. Through its advocacy work at the local, state, and federal level, ACS CAN influences evidence-based public policy change, as well as legislative and regulatory solutions to reduce the cancer burden. The Public Policy Intern will work directly with the ACS CAN policy team on a wide range of state and federal public policy issues including access to care, cancer research, prevention and screening, and tobacco. The intern will also have opportunities to work with colleagues from other teams across the enterprise. We are looking for candidates who are at least a college senior - graduate students strongly preferred - with a keen interest in health policy. Candidates should be able to dedicate at least 15 hours per week for the duration of the internship. This is a remote position. Responsibilities: Supporting the Policy Director and Senior Analysts in tracking and analyzing key federal and state health care legislative initiatives and policy developments. Assisting Policy Principals and Seniors Analysts in the collection of relevant health care data. Developing fact sheets, testimony, infographics, and other materials for use by state and federal advocacy teams and ACS CAN field staff.
