POSITION: The OSU Center for Developmental Disabilities (OSUCDD) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow who will actively engage in research projects and programs within OSUCDD. RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will hold a 100% research appointment and will be expected to:
Conduct both independent and collaborative research focused on individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.
Demonstrate deep knowledge of current research methodologies and approaches specific to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.
Lead and manage research projects involving individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and their families.

The Nanofusion Research Laboratory, under the guidance of Prof. Sachan, works on developing a fundamental understanding of the fabrication and properties of novel nanoscale materials using nanosecond laser-driven synthesis routes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation nanomaterials using advanced high-throughput experimentation.
The selected candidate will explore the thin film synthesis using pulsed laser methodologies and investigate the atomic-scale characteristics of metastable phases of boron nitride. This project is part of a broader effort to develop methods for synthesizing diamond and cubic boron nitride (cBN) under atmospheric pressure, where they are metastable, thereby avoiding the limitations of synthesis by high-temperature, high-pressure, or chemical vapor deposition techniques, which are difficult to scale. The candidate will prepare regular reports for funding agencies, as well as research manuscripts for publication. Additional responsibilities include project management and training/supervising graduate and undergraduate students.
Qualifications: Ph.D. with related experience including nanoscale materials synthesis, laser processing, transmission electron microscopy. A basic understanding of Materials Science will be essential for the position. Prior experience with thin film synthesis, transmission electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy, scripting with Python/Matlab will be highly desirable.
PhD degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited or equivalent program is preferred, along with experience in materials applications.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic post-doctoral scientist with demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas: leaf blade development, mutant screening and gene identification, biparental mapping and map-based cloning, advanced genome editing, ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, and/or WGS data analysis. Applicants should be proficient in protein-protein and protein-DNA interaction techniques. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to write grants and develop independent projects for future career endeavors.
Qualifications________________________________________________________________________
* Ph.D. in Plant Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Genomics, Biochemistry, or related field
* Demonstrated outstanding publication record
* Hands-on experience in biomolecular techniques
Preferred Qualifications
* One or more years of post-doctoral training in molecular biology and/or functional genomics
Employment Conditions_________________________________________________________________
Post-doctoral appointments are 11-month full-time temporary faculty positions. Eleven-month appointments are from July 1 to May 31 with June being the off (unpaid) month. Reappointment for a total period of not more than three years may be made. The position will be filled by January 5, 2026 or as soon thereafter as an acceptable applicant is available. About this Position
THIS IS A GRANT FUNDED POSITION
Postdoctoral fellow will support research on periconceptional and perinatal health behaviors, including substance-exposed pregnancies. This fellowship will be affiliated with the NIH-funded HEALthy Brain and Child Development (HBCD) study. The ideal candidate will have experience collecting data from diverse pools of human subjects, conducting data analysis, and writing manuscripts. The candidate will have opportunities to mentor graduate and undergraduate students and be well supported in manuscript writing and presentations at national conferences. The fellow will also have support and opportunities for mentored grantsmanship (e.g., K-series applications) if interested.
Postdoctoral fellow will assist with the following duties: a) manuscript preparation from existing datasets; b) recruiting and retaining study participants in a longitudinal trial; c) data collection activities with pregnant people; d) data collection activities with infants and young children; and e) data analysis. The fellow will have opportunities to coauthor multiple scientific articles from existing primary datasets and write federal grants leveraging the resources and interdisciplinary connections across Public Health, Psychiatry, Psychology, Neuroscience, Family Medicine, and Human Development and Family Science, among other departments.

PhD in Public Health, Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, or a related discipline
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Must have good scientific writing skills with a solid publication record, clinical research experience, and strong quantitative data analytic skills
