The Center for Social Justice is a center based at Loyola University College of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana that provides capital appellate and post-conviction representation to indigent people on Louisiana's death row, as well as juveniles facing sentences of life without parole. This position is a one-year fellowship that may be extended to a second year, for recent law grads interested in gaining experience representing individuals who have been sentenced to death. The fellow will be supervised by senior attorneys, and will have a substantial role in informing the litigation strategies, reviewing records, meeting with clients, conducting legal research, drafting appellate briefs, and mooting oral arguments. Prior fellowship recipients have gone on to work in capital trial, appeal and post-conviction offices, as well as in academia and other employment opportunities. About the team: The Law & Policy Intern will provide a wide range of support for our ongoing projects, including advancing prosecution reform, jail population reduction, increasing investment in thriving communities, and in multiple parishes and at the state legislature. The First Amendment Clinic at Tulane University School of Law seeks a full-time Stanton Legal Fellow (the Fellow) for a term of two years. Tulane's First Amendment Law Clinic (the Clinic) launched in 2020 to defend and advance the rights of free speech, press, assembly, and petition through litigation and advocacy, while providing law students with practice and real-world experience to become leaders on First Amendment issues. A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Tulane University, located on the historic Uptown campus in New Orleans. The postdoctoral researcher will join Dr. Shuaihua Gao's laboratory, which investigates the structural and dynamic mechanisms by which estrogen receptor α (ERα) integrates genetic, post-translational, and signaling perturbations to control transcriptional outcomes in hormone-responsive cancers. The successful candidate will lead projects using hydrogen-deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS), protein engineering, and biochemical reconstitution to map how ERα conformational states govern cofactor assembly and therapeutic resistance. Additional opportunities include applying computational modeling, proteomics, and transcriptomic profiling to connect receptor ensembles to gene regulation and testing therapeutic hypotheses in disease-relevant models. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemical/Biomedical Engineering, Structural Biology, or a closely related field. 2. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the field of cell/developmental biology or related field. The successful candidate should have demonstrated productivity in related fields and have the talent and dedication to take advantage of the vast resources available at Tulane University. Experience in the following areas is preferred: imaging, sc RNA seq, cell/tissue culture and mice handling. A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medine, Tulane University School of Medicine to study the molecular mechanisms and pathogenesis of liver cancer (hepatocellular carcinoma and/or cholangiocarcinoma). The research projects are focused on the effects and mechanisms of several signaling molecules/cascades including epigenetics, epitranscriptomics, non-coding RNAs, RNA splicing factors, and several other key signaling pathways in the regulation of liver cancer cell growth. The studies involve complementary cellular/molecular analyses and mouse models of hepatobiliary carcinogenesis. Successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a scientific field.

The Gragert Lab in the Tulane Deming Department of Medicine, Section of Biomedical Informatics and Genomics, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with a computational research background in bioinformatics, immunogenetics, and/or transplantation. The Gragert Lab focuses on investigating the role of immune gene variation (HLA and KIR) in transplantation, cancer, and immune-mediated diseases. The role of this postdoctoral researcher will be to develop software and bioinformatics workflows for analysis of immunogenetic data, conduct genetic association studies, and build population genetic models. This position will specifically involve analyzing HLA immunogenetics and antibody data in the context of solid organ allocation and transplant outcomes and other projects as assigned by the principal investigator Dr. Loren Gragert.
