This position is a collaborative role between BBYO and the Nashville JCC. The Genesis Fellow will serve as a BBYO staff member while also functioning as part of the Nashville JCC professional team, supporting JCC-led teen engagement, signature programs, and community-wide initiatives. This role requires strong collaboration, flexibility, and the ability to represent both organizations in the community.
SHAPING THE FUTURE FOR TEENS AND YOURSELF
As a BBYO Genesis Fellow, a typical day will include:
Working directly with teens (grades 8 to 12) To create impactful, fun and dynamic programs in their local chapters.
Monitoring team leaders and delivering leadership training
Working with teens to attract and retain members to build and grow chapters
Guiding teams and establishing an annual calendar for each chapter that drives engagement and recruitment through meaningful programming.
Building and maintaining relationships with key volunteers, partners, parents and stakeholders in the community.
Recruiting new members to join BBYO and to attend summer programs.
Facilitating the planning process alongside team leaderships and colleagues for regional events, including overnight conventions.
Working alongside colleagues to bring new, innovative and fun ideas to the community.
Assisting with mass communication tools including but not limited to newsletters, social media and phone follow-ups.
Tracking regional data such as membership prospects and program logistics
Empower and inspire staff, teens, volunteers and advisors through your mentorship, coaching and training
Employee's primary responsibility in the summer will be to manage the Nashville JCC Maccabi Games program: outreach, promotion, recruitment, management of the coach/assistant delegation head, training, and attending the games and delegation head meetings as organized by JCCA
As part of their role as Nashville JCC staff, the Genesis Fellow will also be responsible for: administration of the Kehillah Award, given each year to an outstanding Jewish teen. Participation in other JCC community-wide programming: Kosher Nashville Hot Chicken Fest, Hanukkah Fest, Jewish Food Festival

The responsibilities and objectives for the role may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Analyze bill introductions, debates, and amendments in relevant legislative committees and on the House and Senate floor
Capture vote counts and bill outcomes related to EdTrust policy agenda priorities across the legislative process
Support bill and committee activity summaries for our weekly legislative newsletter and other EdTrust-TN communications, resources, and events
Stay current and knowledgeable on organizational priorities and recent research from EdTrust and our partners
Attend legislative events and committee hearings as needed
Support internal and external bill tracking systems
Serve is in-house expert on bill status and updates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

General knowledge of the legislative process and education policy
Previous public policy experience preferred, including, but not limited to, previous internships in state or local government; or with other advocacy or education policy organizations
COMPENSATION
The pay for this role ranges from $19/hr for undergraduate students and recent grads to $21-24/hr for graduate students and $25-30 for doctoral students. In order to maintain equity within our intern payscale, we do not negotiate on intern pay rates; pay rates for internships are primarily determined based on level of education. Sick leave is accrued in this role.

Job Summary/Basic Function
The School of Agriculture at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a highly motivated and skilled postdoctoral research fellow (#K98020) to join our interdisciplinary team focused on advancing the understanding and mitigation of methane emissions from cattle. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in sustainable agriculture, animal science, and environmental stewardship. This is a one-year temporary appointment with a possible annual renewal for up to three years. The start date for the appointment is as early as March 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will have the following:
Strong background in ruminant physiology, biochemistry, or methane emission quantification techniques.
Experience with statistical analysis and data interpretation using tools such as SAS, R, Python, or similar.
Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement experiments to measure and analyze methane emissions from cattle using advanced techniques (e.g., gas chromatography).
Develop and assess mitigation strategies including the use of feed additives in cattle.
Provide technical assistance to participating producers for on-farm trials.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including agronomists, biochemists, plant scientists, and extension agents.
Publish findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and assist in grant writing to support ongoing research initiatives.
Participate in outreach activities.
Required Education
A terminal degree in animal science or a closely related agricultural science discipline is required by the appointment date.
Other Desirables
Applicants with familiarity of feed science and nutrition strategies for reducing methane, experience in experimental design involving food animal species, and knowledge of agricultural greenhouse gas mitigation strategies will receive special consideration.
