As part of the Technology Network Engineering team, The Network Engineer is responsible for support and maintenance of the firm's WLAN, LAN and WAN environments. This position, with minimum supervision, will have a thorough understanding of firm technologies and systems as well as be able to understand both the business and technical requirements for new products that will be engineered and implemented by the group. This position works very closely with the team to manage and troubleshoot complex network infrastructure. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Position responsibilities:
Day to day technical support of network infrastructure at the firm's datacenters and at firm office premises
Configure firm LAN, WLAN and WAN environments
Monitor network performance and integrity; analyze trends and SLAs
Troubleshoot/issue management of firm network infrastructure
Perform network maintenance, upgrades and refreshes in conjunction with change management and control policies
Perform wireless surveys, analyze results and remediation
Manage and support user remote access
Produce and analyze packet captures
Document network designs, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures
Work with vendors as required to support network operations and upgrades
All other duties as assigned or required
Skills and experience:
Required:
After orientation at Cooley LLP, exhibit proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, iManage and other firm applications
Ability to work extended and/or weekend hours, as required
4+ years' direct applicable experience in network engineering and support
Strong proficiency with Cisco network switching and routing technologies
Experience troubleshooting enterprise wireless solutions
Experience with Firewall concepts and remote access VPN
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering or computer field
Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and Prisma Cloud
Experience with Cisco SD-WAN and Nexus technologies
Experience with Aruba Networks wireless infrastructure
Understanding of AWS and Azure networking concepts
Knowledge of network automation using tools such as Terraform and Python
Cisco, Palo Alto or Aruba certification
