Director of Global Quality
Ferguson is hiring a US-based Director of Global Quality to drive global standards, governance, and alignment with enterprise priorities, supporting our 22 brands, which collectively generate approximately $3B in sales.
Location: This role is approved to be Remote anywhere in the US. Our preference would be for this position to be based at our Newport News, VA HQ. Relocation is an option for the right individual.
Role Objective
Lead and unify the global Quality Assurance and Control teams, driving the implementation and maintenance of consistent quality objectives for all products sourced and manufactured by the company. Ensure products are safe, compliant, and meet or exceed legal, regulatory, and industry standards. Foster strong collaboration and coordination with the Product Assurance (PA) team to deliver a unified strategy and standards for quality execution across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Champion the development and execution of a unified global quality strategy, aligning with Product Assurance and other key partners.
Set and maintain quality standards, systems, and processes to ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and industry requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality teams and vendors.
Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with the Product Assurance team to harmonize quality and compliance protocols, ensuring seamless communication and issue resolution.
Partner with Global Sourcing, Brand Leadership, Legal, and Product Development to support Own Brand product growth and mitigate risk.
Facilitate cross-functional teamwork to address product quality issues, recalls, and corrective actions.
Operational Excellence
Oversee the implementation of effective measurement and control systems, including audits, inspections, and vendor scorecards.
Ensure robust pre- and post-shipment inspection plans, aligned with company goals and product risk levels.
Manage the global quality team: recruiting, training, developing, and inspiring high performance.
Support and enforce corporate policies and initiatives related to quality.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Develop and maintain KPIs and reporting systems to measure quality performance and drive improvement.
Document findings, communicate results, and escalate issues as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field; advanced degree or certifications (CQE, CMQ/OE) preferred.
10+ years' experience in quality management, with proven leadership in global environments.
Experience in building collaborative relationships across functions and geographies.
Strong knowledge of global regulatory requirements for consumer and commercial products.
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, and technology-driven quality management processes.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to operate in complex, fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications:
Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing, Business or related field or proven experience of 3+ years in eCommerce field required.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally across written formats, virtual meetings, and presentations, while operating independently.
Product knowledge of Waterworks & Geosynthetics categories or manufacturers preferred.

Responsibilities
Create shop drawings for mechanical, civil, and structural systems on new or modified waterworks systems for construction.
Ensure that the design and drafting concepts/details are accurately and clearly conveyed on drawings.
Complete drawings, create BIM models, and maintain VDC standards, processes, and workflows.
Assist in creating and maintaining standard regional and global templates and family libraries.
Meet, communicate, and collaborate with internal and external customers.
Maintain a high-level of mechanical aptitude and construction knowledge.
Apply strong time-management skills to meet project deadlines.
Participate with customers on VDC integration projects.
Review design and construction documents.
Advance global BIM/VDC initiatives.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction science, architecture, or a similar field and 2+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Ability to create BIM/VDC models and update with current construction documents and specifications.
Revit Software is highly preferred
Waterworks experience is highly preferred.
A high degree of integrity, superior attention to detail, and the ability to think critically.
Requires a fundamental understanding of mechanical systems and equipment.
Ability to discuss projects with customers and facilitate open communication.
Proficiency with Autodesk software and Microsoft Office programs.
Strong time management and organizational skills are essential.
Demonstrate effective presentation and writing skills.
Strong work ethic and great interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a team environment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Integrate project management across the full lifecycle of Portfolio Strategy, Real Estate, Design, Construction Management, and Facilities Management.
Collaborate with developers, landlords, contractors, engineers, architects, and other external consultants, as well as internal teams such as Finance, Supply Chain, Design, and executive leadership.
Use project management tools and a playbook methodology to ensure consistent processes across all projects.
Define project scope in partnership with internal and external partners.
