The CAT Team is a multi-disciplinary, community based team that provides intensive wraparound services to children, adolescents, and young adults with mental health/substance needs that are at risk for out-of-home placement. Families are typically in the CAT team for 3-6 months.



As a Therapist at CAT Team, your job purpose will be to provide a multitude of essential functions in order to assist clients and their families to achieve and maintain stability. These functions include, but are not limited to, facilitating group and individual therapy, interviewing clients to aid in completing their psychosocial assessments and developing their treatment plans, efficiently documenting all activities, conducting activities with the client and families, providing regular input to the treatment plan, attending community meetings to advocate for client needs, providing support and crisis intervention when necessary, completing training in order to continuously enhance job performance, facilitating a transition of care when client is discharged from services, and showing flexibility and teamwork. Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.



A CAT Team therapist needs to be able to work and be successful in a team environment. A CAT therapist attends a minimum of at least two team staffings per week. A CAT therapist's schedule can be flexible and their week typically consists of staffing cases and completing administrative tasks in the mornings and conducting sessions with clients after school hours during the school year. Weekend sessions may be held based on client and therapist needs.



The CAT Team is a community based program but is currently primarily telehealth as we safely transition back into the community. Some face to face sessions may be required based on client need.




REQUIRED ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :




  • Complete all necessary intake paperwork, including psychosocial assessments, BASC, initial treatment plans (if applicable).



  • Provide solution-focused (or other accepted brief therapy) clinical interventions in individual, group or family therapeutic activities.



  • Prepare accurate clinical and billing documentation and meet all required standards in quality, accuracy and timeliness.



  • Establish collaborative relationships with host site personnel and/or other community providers.



  • Acquire and maintain knowledge or directories of community resources.



  • Maintain all necessary training/CEU obligations keep up-to-date with best practices of therapeutic interventions.



  • Attend all required staff meetings, clinical staffing and host site events (if applicable).



  • Comply with all relevant ethical codes/standards of conduct.

    Position qualifications: Ability to receive and maintain a(n)

    • Level II Background clearance

    • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver's license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1

    • Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or other related field


    Other qualifications


    Two years' work with children or adults with severe and persistent mental illness. Experience working with children and adults and their families and community supports, solution-focused/cognitive-behavioral/other brief therapy.
