Job Description
To remove finished product from the machines, inspect product to ensure quality specifications have been met and that all packaging requirements have been done according to production work order.
+ Read work order for product specifications and any special instructions concerning packaging, special skids, cartons, cradles, banding requirements, and samples
+ Inspects products for customer requirements and any defects
+ Assists in start-up and changeover of machinery or orders
+ Performs all required quality checks on all orders on a regular basis
+ Adheres to all packaging requirements per Production Work Order
+ Capable of entering production in JDE and printing all necessary paperwork, to include closing out last skid of order.
+ Completes at least one Work Place Observation per month.

**Job Description**
**Summary:**
The Packer is responsible for operating winders, completing quality checks as required, packaging and palletizing finished product, handling scrap product and assisting in scrap reduction while maintaining quality standards.

+ Must enter one near miss and one observation per month.

+ Must determine correct packing materials are available at the line
+ Removes finished product from winders and places it on scales to verify weight

Summary:
The Packer is responsible for operating winders, completing quality checks as required, packaging and palletizing finished product, handling scrap product and assisting in scrap reduction while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Must enter one near miss and one observation per month.
Must review productions orders
Must determine correct packing materials are available at the line
Removes finished product from winders and places it on scales to verify weight
Weigh and accurately record all product on work order/ continuation sheets.
Places items in designated cartons as per production order specifications
Package product per work order manufacturing notes and any other order instructions checking accuracy of labels and adherence to product guidelines.
Places identification labels on product or skids per work order instructions
Must keep work area clean of scrap plastic, cardboard and other debris
Must be able to ensure that the quality is being followed according to work order specifications
Assist in giving breaks to peers
Cut scrap and separate properly
Must be able to work all equipment in stretch and minimum 5 equipment in custom

♦ Repack and assemble shippers.

♦ Assist co-workers as required.
♦ Support machine operator as needed.
♦ Communicate any operational problems that may affect quality of product to Team Leader.
♦ Perform general housekeeping functions.
♦ Follow safety requirements at all times.
♦ Perform any and all tasks requested by the Team Leader or lead person.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work in collaboration with main Cutter Operator for provided instructions which will indicate specifications of form/batch cuts
Identify quantity of form and type of stock to secure correct boxes for packing of product
Off-load product from cutter tables and ensure order sticker label is eligible and visible for delivery
Conduct initial inspection of products to ensure quality control
To ensure compliance of orders, track inventory by physically counting product orders by order number
Accurately and safely box completed jobs and notify quality control teammate/supervisor when completed boxes are ready for inspection
Ensure materials on hand are organized and replenished
To include boxes (to be made and kept on hand at inventory standard), tape guns, filling, chipboard dividers, markers, others as needed
Place boxes in appropriate and safe floor locations under/near packing table
Maintain bins, when full relocate to back lot for recycling and replace with empty bin
Ensure set up is complete for shift change
Report all injuries, illnesses, and near misses to management immediately
Adhere to all safety rules and regulations as set forth by 4over
Complete and maintain required records and paperwork, as needed
Perform regular housekeeping duties in assigned and surrounding areas
Attend all department/company meetings, as needed
Wear all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
