About the Role: This position is in Franklin Park, IL, the main Ferrero plant in the US with 500+ employees producing two iconic products: Butterfinger and Baby Ruth. The Quality Lab Analyst is a key functional position in Ferrero Quality Organization responsible for chemical, physical, and sensorial evaluation of finished product, in-process products, packaging, and raw material samples. The person in this role will execute the factory's Chemical and Physical monitoring program for finished products, raw materials, and packaging materials. They will work in close coordination with the Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure all materials at inbound, in process, and Finished Products are compliant with Ferrero Food Safety and Quality Standards. Main Responsibilities: * Under the guidance of the Laboratory Supervisor, ensure that all chemical-physical methods meet Ferrero requirements. * Responsible for Chemical/Physical and Packaging laboratory operation regarding Good Laboratory Practices, including equipment monitoring and calibration. * Aseptically sample incoming raw materials and prep for internal and external testing. Sample incoming packaging materials as needed. * Maintain internal control protocols by record keeping, troubleshooting, and escalating issues. * Perform chemical-physical testing in the laboratory and work to develop new methods for in-house testing. * Provide support to the facility to facilitate the implementation, maintenance, and audit of good manufacturing practices (GMP). * Actively support and participate in facility's Total Quality effort, including Quality Policy and factory objectives. * Provide support to the facility's continuous improvement program. Continuously strive to improve customer/supplier relationships and business processes. * Responsible to have safe work instructions available for all positions, processes are run in accordance with SOP's, SOPP's and other documentation. All employees have the required level of safety training, all equipment and installations are well maintained with safety guards & devices and associates are using the appropriate PPE. * Assure any activities performed with an environmental impact are communicated and accomplished according to the environmental management system. About You: * B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or other Science Based Degree. * Advanced knowledge of chemical-physical lab procedures. * Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint. * Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP/HARPC strongly preferred. * 1-3 years progressive experience in a Chemical laboratory Environment (unless education and practice in university are higher than the minimum required above). * Food manufacturing experience highly preferred. * Microbiology experience is an asset. * Experience with SAP ERP system is an asset. Compensation Data: The base salary range for this position is $53,831 - $71,775 annually. About the Role: We have a current opening for a Raw Materials Expert and are actively reviewing applicants. The North American R&D raw material expert identifies new raw materials, develops and/or improves semi-finished and finished products for Innovation, Renovation and Brand Maintenance projects. Compensation Data The base salary range for this position is $53,831 - $71,775 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. About the Role: As the Quality Product Specialist, you will ensure the integrity and highest level of quality for all Ferrero products produced in the Franklin Park, IL plant. The Quality Product Specialist will be responsible for the inspection of work in process and finished products. As the Quality Product Specialist, you will ensure compliance of quality standards for all products, GMPs and Food Safety. Main Responsibilities: * Ensure the inspection of the finished product output; guarantee finished products meet quality specifications established by the Quality Department. * Ensure the examination of the quality reports from the day prepared by production personnel (entry of data into system such as SAP-QM); ensure the examination of monthly reports; request and verify adjustment as required * Conduct sensory sessions for semi-finished and finished product * Support factory food allergen management program and product coding maintenance * Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems * Train production employees personnel regarding quality check of the product (self-control) * Record goods movements in SAP (e.g. stock for quality controls / blocked stock, etc.) * Ensure all program requirements/standards regarding quality and food safety are implemented, practiced, and maintained * Internal auditing, recording statistical data and analyzing production data to verify compliance or determine deviation from existing standards * Execute daily review of the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) documentation * Enforce and promote all company guidelines, policies, and good manufacturing practices About You: * Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Biotechnology, or Food Chemistry; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred * 1-3 years of relevant work experience * Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods * Ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness; ability to see details at close range; ability to compare similarities and differences quickly and accurately, ability to identify or detect a pattern; ability to add, sub-tract, multiply or divide quickly and correctly * Must have good verbal and written communication skills * Must be able to perform in a demanding, fast-paced environment * Proficiency in SAP systems preferred * Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HAACP strongly preferred Our Benefits & Perks: Careers with caring built in - discover our benefits here.
