We are searching for a Phlebotomist with great patient service skills. This position is full time and will float between our Mokena, Hinsdale, and Warrenville offices. The schedule is 30 hours per week Monday - Friday 6:30a-12:30p. The pay for this position is between $21-$23/hr. The Phlebotomist will promote the company's mission, goals and performance standards for the phlebotomy lab. This position will possess an understanding of all fundamental phlebotomy procedures assuring compliance for all policies and protocols are followed. This position will work with our clinical staff to ensure patient needs are addressed promptly and accurately. How You'll Contribute: Perform venipuncture and collect other specimens for testing using proper technique and Universal Precautions. Adhere to laboratory instructions for specimen collection, storage, and transport. Follow insurance requirements as needed. Confirm orders in Artworks to ensure accuracy of specimens collected. Ensure that required consent forms for testing are completed. Verify identifiers with patients. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of lab changes and requirements. Process patient specimen(s); including blood, urine, and tissue Additional patient care tasks: Collaborate with nursing team to address patient needs promptly. Provide anticipatory guidance for timelines in regards to results and further information/instructions. Maintenance of clinical areas Keep phlebotomy lab and other clinical areas clean and stocked. Sterilize equipment. Ensure that timely preventive maintenance and repairs are performed on clinical equipment. Ensure that biohazard and sharps materials are disposed of properly. Computers and Clerical tasks: Utilize EMR system to access necessary clinical information, process lab orders, and document test results. Utilize ArtWorks to access necessary demographic and insurance information. Maintain patient confidentiality by following HIPAA guidelines. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following OSHA guidelines. Adhere to all FCI standards, policies, and procedures. Follow all incident reporting policy and procedures. Complete CE's quarterly. Review engaged MD Ovulation Induction and Zika. Utilize ArtWorks to access necessary demographic and insurance information. Weekend coverage and travel to other clinic locations to cover are required as needed. Accountability and professionalism: Develop and maintain professional and effective working relationships with all customers, physicians, and staff. Consistently demonstrate behaviors associated with problem-solving, multi-tasking, and accountability. Keep knowledge and skills current by attending continuing education and training opportunities. Assist with training of new lab staff. Weekend coverage and travel to other clinic locations to cover are required as needed. Skills and Requirements: High school diploma Certificate or diploma in phlebotomy required CPR certification Technical skills (i.e. venipuncture). Experience in a fast paced medical office setting. Technical skills (i.e. venipuncture). Proficiency with EMR systems (i.e. Artworks, Quest, LabCorp, ACL, and Genetic Testing). Adherence to all standards, policies and procedures associated with safety, sanitation and confidentiality. Ability to work independently and in group settings. What You Will Do: The Customer Experience Specialist is responsible for managing all inboxes for patient and onsite team member questions as it pertains to the billing procedures, collecting payments, providing necessary instructions, and facilitating a seamless financial journey. This role serves as a point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional customer service during the billing process, and assisting inter-company customers with questions regarding insurance matters, current account status, and billing questions. The Customer Experience Specialist reports to the RCM Customer Experience Manager. Respond to patient questions regarding their account; research self-pay and insurance account activity to provide accurate responses and required actions. Manage ticketing system with requests from onsite staff members for refunds, itemized receipts, and patients requests for contact regarding billing. Triage all communications from patients and onsite team members regarding the level of billing review needed. Complete patient billing procedures including charge posting, payment posting, executing adjustments as appropriate, and special patient financial programs as needed for patient requests. Other duties as assigned. What You Bring: High School Diploma or GED required. 1+ year medical billing experience preferred. Previous experience in reproductive medicine or Women's health preferred. Prior experience with Athena preferred. Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, on a rotating basis.
