Job Description
What You'll Do:
As a Guest Service Desk Clerk at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include:
* Provide Outstanding Service: Take ownership of guest interactions by responding promptly to inquiries, offering product and service information, and resolving complaints in a friendly, professional manner-whether in-person, by phone, or electronically.
* Ensure Smooth Operations: Accurately and efficiently process transactions, maintain cash and media at the Service Counter, and manage tasks like cashier tills distribution and additional services such as DMV, Lottery, and ticket sales.
* Support Guest Needs: Help guests with refunds, exchanges, and offers while recording details of inquiries, comments, and actions. Direct unresolved issues to appropriate resources.
* Quality Standards: Ensures all quality standards are being met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
* Money Handling: Distributes cashier tills and partners with cashiers throughout the day to ensure associate and guest needs are being met. Accurately and efficiently process transactions and accurately maintain all cash and media at Service Counter registers.
* Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.
* Collaborate with the Team: Perform other duties as assigned.

* Availability: Minimum availability must include 16 hours a week with a minimum of 8 hours per day during available days.

Work Schedule:
The Guest Services Clerk is a position with part-time or full-time opportunities. The schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on your availability.

* Monitor & Adjust: Efficiently manage staff schedules, adjust operations based on business needs, and maintain compliance with labor laws for minor employees.
* Maintain Staffing Levels: Proactively manage staff coverage by calling in additional team members when needed to cover absences or increased business demand.
* Enforce Labor Laws: Ensure compliance with minor labor laws by appropriately scheduling minor employees for breaks, lunches, and clock-out times, adhering strictly to legal guidelines.
* Optimize Scheduling: Adjust daily schedules based on sales, item movement, and guest traffic to ensure productivity remains at 100%.
* Communicate with Shift Managers: Quickly notify Shift Managers when assistance is required and when handling guest service responsibilities at the checkout lanes.
* Manage Lane Flow: Open additional checkout lanes as needed to ensure a smooth guest experience during busy periods. Keep a cash drawer readily available for personal use when necessary.
* Track Attendance: Utilize the GSR Shift Report to effectively communicate and document lateness or absences.
* Cart Management: Ensure sufficient cart availability by monitoring and managing cart collection and running processes efficiently.
* Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

A Guest Services Representative is passionate about providing remarkable guest service at the Guest Service Counter by offering convenient, specialty products and services not offered by traditional grocery retailers (i.e. Money Orders, Western Union, Dry Cleaning, Postage, etc.). The Guest Service Representative is responsible for upholding Coborn's high standard of service by supporting the front-end, as well as the remainder of the store, through cashier interventions, transaction reversals/corrections, and other unique transactions (i.e. returns, coupon refunds, exchanges, etc.).
A day in the life of the Guest Service Representative may include any combination of the below duties:
* Maintain a "Say Yes to the Guest" attitude by providing remarkable guest service.
* Perform all front-end functions including, but not limited to: cashiering, bagging, running money order machines, electronic payment machines, postal machinery, copies, lottery equipment, Western Union, bookkeeping, etc.
* Assist guests with returned merchandise, overrings, and overcharges.
* Conduct cashier accuracy audits. Provide low-level troubleshooting and/or inform store management of problem areas, including: pricing, equipment breakdowns, service levels and standards, personnel problems, etc.

* Oversee Operations: Monitor Guest Service activity, ensure team compliance with procedures, and maintain department cleanliness and functionality.
* Support: Step in to direct guests, manage checkout lines, and provide timely overrides or assistance to the Guest Service team.
* Monitor & Adjust: Efficiently manage staff schedules, adjust operations based on business needs, and maintain compliance with labor laws for minor employees.
* Maintain Staffing Levels: Proactively manage staff coverage by calling in additional team members when needed to cover absences or increased business demand.
* Enforce Labor Laws: Ensure compliance with minor labor laws by appropriately scheduling minor employees for breaks, lunches, and clock-out times, adhering strictly to legal guidelines.
* Optimize Scheduling: Adjust daily schedules based on sales, item movement, and guest traffic to ensure productivity remains at 100%.
* Communicate with Shift Managers: Quickly notify Shift Managers when assistance is required and when handling guest service responsibilities at the checkout lanes.
* Manage Lane Flow: Open additional checkout lanes as needed to ensure a smooth guest experience during busy periods. Keep a cash drawer readily available for personal use when necessary.

* Cart Management: Ensure sufficient cart availability by monitoring and managing cart collection and running processes efficiently.
