    What You'll Do As Respite Worker, you will provide short-term relief to caregivers who are responsible for the primary care and support of individuals with developmental disabilities, participants (of all ages) receiving respite services through Easterseals NY- Rochester Recreation Respite waiver program. Your responsibilities will include: Providing protective oversight for assigned individual. Providing assistance with personal care if applicable and as needed, as well as providing reminders and simple assistance for activities such as eating. Following service plan designed by the care coordination team. Encouraging individual toward self-reliance. Understanding and respecting the confidentiality of the individual and family. Accepting responsibility for compliance with all policies, procedures and service requirements of Easterseals and the Respite programs Completing and maintaining all required documentation required for position. Working in accordance with state HCBS Waiver Key, OPWDD and Agency policies & procedures and regulations required for provision of services, documentation, and training needs. Demonstrating ability to receive supervision from multiple supervisors when appropriate, cooperating with the individual, primary caregiver, family and program supervisor. Following protocols and procedures for emergency situations. Ability to communicate effectively, maintaining cooperative and regular communication/correspondences with supervisor, program administrative team, other employees of the agency and clientele as necessary even if not actively scheduled to work.
