Summary
COST is a specialty theme construction company that creates custom projects for museums, theme and water parks, aquariums, zoological exhibits, and other unique assignments. A fiberglass fabricator will support ongoing projects by working with castable materials to create custom forms, parts, and molds.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply fiberglass resin and urethane.
- Operate and maintain equipment to apply resin.
- Use castable materials such as foam, clay, fiberglass, and steel to create custom forms, parts and molds.
- Hand lay, seam or perform patchwork.
- Perform carpentry work.
- Perform various general labor duties as assigned.
- Drive a forklift (training provided).
- Use hand tools (drills, saws, read a tape measure).
- Work independently and with project team.
- Adhere to safety requirements and equipment guidelines.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill
- Some high school; or a combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of fiberglass application processes.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as layouts, blueprints, sketches, and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other employees in the organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, and circumference.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
