Jeffrey Brown (JB) was named chief executive officer of Ally Financial in February 2015 and also serves on its board of directors. He oversees all strategy and operations related to the company’s leading automotive financial services and direct banking franchises. Brown has deep financial services experience, having previously served in a variety of key leadership roles at Ally. Most recently, Brown was president and chief executive officer of Ally’s Dealer Financial Services business where he oversaw the company’s automotive finance, insurance and auto servicing operations. Brown joined Ally in March 2009 as corporate treasurer and, in 2011, was named executive vice president of finance and corporate planning, where he oversaw the company’s finance, treasury and corporate strategy initiatives. Prior to joining Ally, Brown was the corporate treasurer for Bank of America, where he had responsibility for the core treasury functions, including funding and managing interest rate risk. Brown spent 10 years at Bank of America, beginning his career in finance and later joining the balance sheet management division. During his tenure at Bank of America, he also served as the bank’s deputy treasurer and oversaw balance sheet management and the company’s corporate funding division. Brown received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Clemson University and an executive master’s degree in business from Queens University in Charlotte. He serves on the Trevillian Cabinet of the College of Business and Behavioral Sciences at Clemson University and serves on the Board of Trustees for Queens University in Charlotte.

He serves or has served on the boards of directors of a number of NRV portfolio companies: WealthForge (fintech); Territory (health and wellness); ICX Media (digital marketing); Ario (augmented reality); Moonlighting (services marketplace); Red’s (health and wellness) and Health Warrior (health and wellness). As a community leader, Ted serves on the boards of directors of the Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges, University of Richmond School of Law, Richmond Performing Arts Center, and the Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy at the University of Virginia. He also co-chairs the RVA/757 Connects regional collaborative. Ted previously served as the chairman of VCU Massey Cancer Center, Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, Partnership for Nonprofit Excellence, Maymont Foundation, Richmond Arts Foundation, and Association for Corporate Growth. In October 2008, Fein co-founded Kensington Vanguard National Land Services, LLC after merging Vanguard Title Agency, Inc. with Kensington National Land Services, LLC. Prior to the merger, Fein founded and served as the President of Vanguard Title Agency, Inc. since its formation in 2002. Vanguard specialized in both New York and national commercial and high-end residential transactions and underwrote several billion dollars worth of insured transactions annually, written on the largest and most respected title insurance companies in the country. The firm was involved in such high liability transactions as the acquisitions of 5 Times Square and 650 Madison Avenue among many others. Prior to entering the title insurance industry, Fein served as the Director of Business Development with the New York based telecom/data startup Trucom. While at Trucom, he assisted in growing the startup into a 90 person organization that was ultimately acquired by a competitor in the industry. Subsequently, Fein worked for the Manhattan law firm of Rubin & Weissman, LLP where he handled a variety of legal matters for its clients. Fein received a B.S. from Boston University and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School where he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society, The Journal of Law and Policy and was an Academic Achievement Award Scholar. Fein has been a member of the New York State Bar since 2000.
