Responsible for supporting utility-scale and large commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation construction projects. Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other work tasks and assists with or reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting. Ensures the timely and appropriate generation, collection, distribution, storage, retrieval and ultimate disposition of meeting agendas, RFl's and daily reports. 2. Demonstrates an understanding of the project management plan (PMP) and is involved in support and execution of the plan. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the change management process and performs project scope activities and supports the project team to ensure the work needed to complete the project successfully. 3. Ensures the administration of the project quality management plan and demonstrates and reinforces a culture of safety throughout the project. 4. May assist in the calculation of daily production rates and unit costs for self-performed work. Participates in risk management including identification, analysis, response planning and monitoring and control on a project and demonstrates competency in understanding the environmental control processes for the project and takes corrective actions when necessary. 5. May be responsible for overseeing/managing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination between Subcontractors and Designers. 6. May be responsible for the documentation and submittal for the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification of a building and for creating and updating Digital Record Drawings (ORD). 7. May provide lines, grades and layout as required for the project while maintaining an organized log book. 8. May provide the following weekly quantities: maintains accurate quantity logs and reports quantities in compliance with the cost control manual. Completed logs are to be filed with the project files. Perform elements of the processes involved in budgeting and controlling costs so that the project can be completed within the approved budget. Demonstrates business acumen within area of responsibility. (Not all Field Engineers track quantities) 9. Provides support to superintendents required for the execution of the work and assists in the resolution of field problems as necessary. Minimum Job Requirements 1. Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential. 2. Entry-level position that normally requires a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical/field experience. 3. The Field Engineer is responsible for managing large and complex construction work at the project site to ensure operations run safely, smoothly, and effectively. This position has a wide range of job responsibilities, depending on the area of specialization. These duties might include working on road, bridge, building, steel structures, or other large projects. This position is classified as "safety-sensitive." Essential Functions * Designs temporary structures used during construction with emphasis on safety considerations * Inspects installed equipment and technologies. Solves issues that may arise. * Directs foremen or workers on-site * Conducts research and accurately reports on project status * Performs quality control inspections and checks work for compliance with contract documents * Verifies proper materials are used, and that the installations meet project timelines and requirements * Affirms safety compliance and enforces proper protocols and PPE on site * May oversee project budget and communications Qualifications * A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or closely related field * A minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as a field engineer or similar role * Well-versed in technical aspects of field projects, including machinery, equipment, and construction processes * Thorough understanding of safety guidelines (OSHA statutes) * Attention to detail * Outstanding communication skills * An analytical mind and strong problem-solving ability * Ability to work in adverse weather and occasional overtime and weekends Working Conditions * Travel - This role will be expected to travel to project locations, sometimes nationally * Construction site environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
