Overview of the position:
At Clark Pacific, the Project Engineer is a position that facilitates the successful design, fabrication, and installation of architectural and structural building systems. Working as part of an integrated team within a specific business unit, this role applies engineering, project management, problem solving, and communication skills across all levels and disciplines within the organization, significantly contributing to the project success of some of the West Coast's most iconic and exciting prefabricated buildings.
Initial activities pertaining to the Design Phase, including, but not limited to: Submittal drawings (floor plans, elevations, material specifications, connection details, Reinforcing details, General panel details, Design approvals, Reinforcement drawings, and Miscellaneous metal drawings.
Manufacturing-related activities pertaining to the Production Phase, including, but not limited to: Providing complete shop drawings (panel elements, structural elements, formwork, form change studies, Birdseye, stripping and yard handling studies to facilitate manufacturing, Ensuring purchasing of all required materials and forms, Design lifting hardware, loops, rigging, brackets, and inserts for stripping and handling forces, Provide and maintain a casting schedule, Perform quality checks, and Engage in start-up meetings with manufacturing, and remain engaged throughout each project's life cycle.
Field-related activities pertaining to the Erection Phase, including, but not limited to: Preparing crane studies, rigging diagrams, and the overall project erection plan as well as erection sequence, load lists, and diagrams, Coordinate shipping of miscellaneous metal, Coordinate field manpower requirements with Field & Trucking team to alignment to budget, Ensure fall protection plan is in place, Professionally represent the Company at the field erection site, and Inspect erection quality and performance to plan and budget.
General project management including, but not limited to: Project performance to contract specifications, budget, and time commitments, Issue identification, problem-solving, resolution, and escalation (as necessary), Coordinate necessary and requested procedure submittals (such as welding, grouting, post-tensioning, etc., Engage with internal resources throughout the Company to contribute, learn, and develop professionally.

Project Management/ Project Controls:
Assist Project Manager and Superintendent in the efficient control and management of the project, while ensuring safety and quality programs are being executed on the project site.
Develop and maintain the critical path project schedule, including ongoing revisions. Assist the Project Manager and/or Superintendent in the preparation of short-term look-ahead schedules and the application of Lean Construction techniques.

Assist in the procurement of equipment and materials, and track and expedite their delivery.

Assist in the preparation of estimates and quotations to obtain project work. Assist the Project Manager and/or Estimator in bid preparation, subcontractor/vendor solicitation, evaluation and award.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE GRAYCOR ENGINEERING MENTORING PROGRAM, YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or other relevant technical discipline.
0-3 years of relevant construction internship or post-undergraduate experience.
The ability to travel extensively and temporarily reside at the project site for extended periods of time, with travel home provided every other weekend. Travel subsistence pay and travel incentive bonuses may apply.

Maintains daily contact with field superintendents to stay abreast of changes in the sequence of work; organizes field crews daily to provide the field engineering support needed to support construction activities that day, including monitoring alignment of forms before concrete pours, concrete finishing to the prescribed elevation, placement of anchor bolts, structural steel, embeds openings, penetrations, etc.
5. Periodically monitors dimensional control of subcontracted work
6. Checks and verifies the accuracy of all dimensions on the plans and shop drawings; initiates RFls in a timely manner to resolve discrepancies before they can cause construction delays
7. Provides on-the-job training in basic field engineering subjects for subordinates
8. Assumes overall responsibility for the proper care, maintenance and security of all engineering instruments, tools and equipment; may perform intricate adjustments to instruments at prescribed intervals to ensure consistency in measurements
9. Discusses field construction problems with the superintendent on an ongoing basis, offering ideas that could lead to a solution to the problem; may assist the superintendent in day-to-day supervision of the crafts when so assigned and report uantities of work in place
10. Assists the superintendent in evaluating the impact of construction activity on adjacent properties, recommending courses of action to minimize risks, damage, or inconvenience to others
11. Calculates and verifies concrete quantities for defined pouring areas (slabs, columns, walls, etc.) before the superintendent orders concrete
12. Participates in jobsite safety as outlined in company's Safety & Health Manual

The Field Engineer will assist the Project Manager with the day-to-day construction, technical and administrative aspects of assigned construction projects. Field engineer will assist Project Manager & Supt in field work support role, including but not limited to estimating, procurement, report preparation, and overall support in every aspect of each project.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsible for oversight of subcontractors when applicable. This may include resolution of jobsite issues and situations as they arise. Supervision includes use of discretion and independent judgement when dealing with discrepancies and matter of significance on the job.

The Field Service Technical Engineer will provide technical support for the project site team. This is a hands-on position working closely with corporate IT, onsite project team members and 3rd party contractors.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, troubleshoot & repair hardware, software, & peripheral equipment
Assist/manage site-wide network setup and support
Assist with jobsite trailer mobilization and demobilization as required
Work with site team to proactively address and resolve service requests and/or to gather information necessary to resolve service requests.
Communicate with other IT team members to resolve issues and expedite work

Manage service tickets in IT ticketing system
