Corresponds, maintains, monitors, and performs voice network configuration changes of various voice infrastructure equipment & network to enhance performance on telecommunication systems via CLI and GUI interfaces including participation in on-call coverage for off hours. Collaborates with voice network architects on VoIP network optimization based on technical subject matter expertise. Logs and follows up on service provider trouble tickets. Monitors and meets with vendors on contractual obligations and performance delivery. Supports other departments on telecommunication issues by providing guidance through escalated or complex workplace problems Serves as subject matter expert and mentors junior members of team related to telephony infrastructure and technologies. Other duties as reasonably required or assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: A working knowledge of telecommunications is required. Superior customer relations and communication skills are required. Independent travel to multiple campus locations is required. Ability to work weekends and on-call required. Possess knowledge of concepts, procedures, and troubleshooting techniques. Ability to work independently. Attention to detail, thorough in work. Troubleshooting experience with telecommunications technologies is preferred. Knowledgeable in VoIP, automated call distribution (ACD), voicemail system, and call recording technologies is preferred. WORK EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: 5 years of Experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Prior experience with VoIP is Preferred.
