Key Functions
Coordinate with the Project Management team on engineering and procedural plans, and suggest project enhancements/value engineering opportunities
Prepare and track project submittals
Facilitate Change Order process, prepare monthly budget analysis, and projections/cost to complete
Manage CPM baseline and updates
Manage RFI's and engineering-related inquiries
Assist with project purchase orders and subcontracts
Ensure all project materials are approved, delivered and tracked accordingly
Coordinate with the finance department to prepare, review and evaluate monthly costs
Update and maintain the company ERP system with all current project information in the appropriate programs
Desired Qualifications
5+ years of relevant experience, ideally in construction management
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management Utility Engineering preferred
Experience with ERP management and improvements
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and standard computer applications
Display a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner
Ability to identify problems; determine accuracy and relevance of information; use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations

About This Position:
We are seeking a qualified Project Engineer with 8-15 years' experience to become a part of our growing Highway Design Group for our Albany, Syracuse, and White Plains offices. Our highway engineers work on a variety of projects and interact with traffic engineers, structure engineers and our construction inspection staff.
Responsibilities include:
Developing roadway, trail and sidewalk designs
Intersection design and layout including roundabouts and traffic signals

* Monitor project scope for changes affecting budget and/or schedule; identifies cause, advise client, and negotiates change orders as appropriate.
* Identify impacts to schedule and monitor cost.
* Forecast and track the amount of labor, managerial and material costs necessary to complete a project.
* Responsible for proper reporting of profit and loss of assigned projects as the job progresses. Must have a detailed and comprehensive understanding of project job costing to support monthly closing meetings.
* Review revenue projections and accruals for accuracy. Adjust as needed.
* Provide good communication with owner representative to ensure a good working environment.
* Coordinate with the project team to determine needed resources (manpower, material, equipment, subcontractors, permits, etc.) throughout the life of the project with attention to budgetary limitations.
* Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
* Understand the project scope, specifications and identify changes as they come. Communicate to the project team to make sure each change is properly documented.
Desired Qualifications
* 10+ years of relevant experience, with experience working on heavy civil construction projects, bridges a plus
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred
* Experience with NYC and State public agencies a plus
* Proficient in the use of Procore, P6, HCSS, and Microsoft Office
* Effective communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic

Job Description
This role is specifically within DnA, a division of SOCOTEC.
Complete assigned inspection as scheduled by dispatch
Perform scheduled inspection during the time assigned - inspect, review and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings
Usual schedule is 8am-4pm
Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
NYS PE, Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree with field experience
Ideal candidates must hold certifications from ICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACI including:
ICC Commercial or Residential Certification required.
Technical, Associate's, or Bachelor's Degree pertaining to the Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) a plus.
Candidates must be familiar with the New York City Building Code
Ability to read prints and find inspection locations
Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Reliable means of transportation necessary.
Extensive knowledge of industry standards
Must be punctual, reliable with good attention to detail
Ability to work various shifts
Ability to travel numerous job sites daily
Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic
Able to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers
Prepare and electronically submit daily reports
Organized and efficient
Authorized to work in the U.S with a valid driver license
