Responsibilities * Work with a vibrant and diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial construction. * Support both administrative and construction activities as assigned by supervisor; review proposals, specifications and drawings, perform material takeoffs, prepare cost estimates and attend pre-bid investigation meetings. * Learn to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors. * Prepare work plans, assure quality control, manage and track costs and materials, schedule equipment, administer safety programs and maintain exceptional owner relations. * Relocate as required. Working Conditions: * Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, or snow. * Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns). * Work from all types of ladders and be able to transport/relocate ladders unassisted. * Employee's personal weight with tools cannot exceed the rated weight capacity of ladders used. * Perform work at various heights, up to 90 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks and other safe work areas. * Work in restricted areas (switch gear-room, manholes, utility tunnels and crawl spaces). * Wear personal protective equipment as required. * Able to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required, including the possibility of night shifts. Required Physical/Mental Functions: * Positively identify colors of wire and other items as required. * Must have the ability to safely use the required power tools and test equipment. * Must be able to safely operate equipment (lift trucks, aerial lifts, etc.). * Comprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in Safety Handbook. * Operate company trucks with manual and automatic transmission. * Read and interpret maps, manuals, work site directions, and written instructions. * Operate and work from mechanical personal lifts (electric or gas powered). * Must hear and see well (either natural or with correction). * Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead. * Able to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds. * Tolerant to prolonged standing and movement on foot. * Climb ladders (all types). * Complete overhead work for extended periods of time. * Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers. Assist in creating cost code allocations from initial estimate. Work with PM and Prefab Manager to discuss prefabrication opportunities and coordinate lay out, plan and schedule for any prefabricated assemblies. Assist with project change orders. Work closely within Office and Field to ensure they have the latest drawings. Visit job sites and attend job meetings as needed. Assist with bi-weekly projection on job cost. Manage vendors and track all deliveries of materials. Assist with issuing timely RFIs. Work with Project Coordinators as required for assistance in Purchase and delivery tracking, software inputs, permit pulling, change order management, project close out materials, administrative duties, etc. Assist with job close out manuals and as-builts.
